There's a very particular psychology to the SF bro culture that I'm partially exposed to (i work in tech) but really don't understand.

It's like they think that all human knowledge doesn't exist or is suspect until reproduced by their own weird particular not particularly rigorous methods. Why

Speaking in Washington at a Semafor media event, Lutnick said reports that Canada was slowing down trade talks with the US "is like the worst strategy I've ever heard. They suck." Trump signed the 2020 trade deal during his first term to replace Nafta.
"[Prime Minister Mark] Carney has a problem with us," he said.

A commerce department spokesperson said Lutnick had been misquoted.
"Secretary Lutnick, describing our unfair trade imbalance with Canada, explained how Canada sucks off of our $30tn economy," the spokesperson said.

Do they think that sounds better? Because it really doesn’t.

Pete Hegseth quotes fake Bible verse from Pulp Fiction during sermon Hegseth said the prayer was supposed to reflect Ezekiel 25:17, but did not mention its striking similarities to a monologue in the beloved 1994 Quentin Tarantino movie

Well, the typical single vote matters a decent bit (if we had to put a dollar value on it, I think it could be four or five figures, even), but "very large," I'm not sure.

Elections Are Purely Practical Don’t be vain about your vote.

The article I wrote for @liberalcurrents.com in 2024 about this probably would have swung the election to Harris, if only Liberal Currents had been a huge publication then (it still isn't). www.liberalcurrents.com/elections-ar...

It may seem paradoxical but a key to accomplishing (1) will be to deflate the psychological importance that Americans attach to their voting decision. Casting a particular ballot in a particular election needs to become understood as a small practical matter, not a titanic moment of self-expression.

Congressman Greg Casar on Children Suffering at Dilley Detention Center YouTube video by Congressman Greg Casar

Blue Butterfly. Brown Bear. Green Turtle.

That’s what ICE names the prison blocks at Dilley to make this place sound humane. It’s not.

Kids are being locked up, denied care, and treated like they don’t matter.

This must end.
