What a title
Beats the heck outta “Jockey of OH SHIT ah hell fuck my legs I fell”
We all have days like this
That is also my perception of Legacy, and I would be very surprised if the project ever existed as anything more than a ten-page treatment on Matalas' hard drive.
Picard S3's biggest issue was everything regarding Jack Crusher Jr, a character who could have had PLOT DEVICE written on his forehead.
Very good. We need the curtain pulled back on these guys by people insightful, independent and incisive enough to cut them and their bullshit down to size. Not surprised a screenwriter fits the bill - really nice job by Noah Hawley.

That said, I always felt that the talk of Star Trek: Legacy was 99% wishful thinking by aging fans jonesing for just one more sip of the TNG-era juice after Picard S03, a season that I found to be a real mixed bag that wasn't much better than the previous two in spite of the TNG cast reunion.
Seems like Paramount is dead-set on winding down Trek as a TV franchise though. The final one-and-a-half seasons of SNW had to be negotiated for, and the only reason Starfleet Academy is getting two seasons is because it was greenlit prior to the Skydance merger and production was already underway.
Everything is bad now because kids get their taste in music from algorithms instead of from trying to impress the older girl you know who looks like the Bombchu Bowling Alley Operator
a vintage Indonesian sticker of "Jean Picard" from Star Trek
Ok, this week has started incredibly well as we've just stumbled across a website that collects, curates & archives "vintage Indonesian labels and stickers – presenting the archipelago’s lavish visuals and their significance as knowledge and reference materials."

Opening text of a thread by Palantir from X Because we get asked a lot. The Technological Republic, in brief. 1. Silicon Valley owes a moral debt to the country that made its rise possible. The engineering elite of Silicon Valley has an affirmative obligation to participate in the defense of the nation. 2. We must rebel against the tyranny of the apps. Is the iPhone our greatest creative if not crowning achievement as a civilization? The object has changed our lives, but it may also now be limiting and constraining our sense of the possible. 3. Free email is not enough. The decadence of a culture or civilization, and indeed its ruling class, will be forgiven only if that culture is capable of delivering economic growth and security for the public. 4. The limits of soft power, of soaring rhetoric alone, have been exposed. The ability of free and democratic societies to prevail requires something more than moral appeal. It requires hard power, and hard power in this century will be built on software.
Palantir put out a 22-point summary of their CEO's book The Technological Republic. It's pitched as a defence of the West, but if you read it through the VDA framework, verification, deliberation, accountability, what it's actually doing looks rather different.

Today is the 30th anniversary of MST3K: THE MOVIE! What are your favorite memories of seeing it on the big screen or on video? I saw it at an art house theater on a double bill with Brain Candy. Both warped my mind! We laughed our asses off.
Remember, someone can be neurodivergent AND an asshole. Someone can be going through a mental health crisis AND be a shitty human being. We don't gotta pick or even try to reconcile how one relates to the other. People contain multitudes, and some of those multitudes are shitty.
Conversely, irrationality gets you irratio'd
IIRC, didn't Hegseth fire a bunch of support personnel last year when he was pushing out everyone who didn't fit his dumbass image of a "real" war-fighter?
as far as i can tell pope leo has never mentioned trump by name hes just like “killing people is wrong” or “concentration camps arent good” and theyre all taking it personally
Godzilla Minus Zero still of Goji walking beside the statue of liberty with the text "Go ahead and destroy the financial district Godzilla. Make the people happy."
The most bad-ass rebuttal from Tite Kubo, the author of Bleach.
Our new album is out today! A sincere request to help spread the word!
"All what I’ve seen so far is dead on arrival. Slick and well made, but completely dead. It does not acquire the soul of poetry." -Werner Herzog on AI-generated film Photo of Werner Herzog looking contemplative next to a body of water
As for AI-generated film, Werner Herzog is unimpressed.

According to Wikipedia, at least 44 if we assume that there was one arrested perp per episode. That show was only on for a couple of seasons, but it does surprise me that amidst the current quirky-detective renaissance nobody has tried pitching a reboot. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Father_...
Let’s just acknowledge that this kind of attack is foundationally antisemitic at its core
the Soros conspiracy coming from Elon in particular is just embarrassing. you’re worth like 80x what Soros is buddy, if you thought he was buying elections you could snap your fingers and fix it.
It’s profoundly ignorant to suggest that the Pope should be fighting crime on behalf of the Catholic Church. Anyone who was remotely familiar with Roman Catholicism would know that that’s what Daredevil is for
Pretty much any US city with a large enough German-American heritage has a few local brewers that produce Hefeweizens or other specific German beer styles. Cincinnati's Rhinegeist even cans one: thefullpint.com/beer-news/rh...
the artemis II stuff was a lot of fun but as a regional supervisor of the misery engine that turns doomscrolling into green energy i'm glad it's over. we're down 44% from this time YoY for Q2
But didn't they all get out of those at some point? At this point the (Nigh-)Inescapable Plexiglass Cube is statistically the most easily escapable prison in pop culture. Their only function is to prove how clever the villain is by having one security flaw that can be exploited in some flashy way.
Okay, I need to ahead of a few things and make some things clear, I have never been one of The Master's wives, and I am completely unfamiliar with a person named "Torgo." I have a strong legal team and consider spurious accusations a serious matter.
