A view of the Wadden Sea from above. Farmland on the mainland is seen through sparse clouds. The Wadden Sea is muddy and extends towards the Wadden islands which are lined by beach in the far northern side. Channels of bluer water flow through the muddy sea in the deeper parts. The island in the distance is Terschelling.

The Netherlands: must be almost wadlopen season! 😁 Where does the land end and the sea begin?

Only a little sad that ankylosaurus didn’t make the top 7. Honorable mention is okay I guess. Cheers to the being part of the dinosaur renaissance. 🦖 🦕

The Nice Observatory at Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur is stunning. The building was built by Charles Garnier and the dome by Gustave Eiffel! Definitely worth a visit.

Saw a reel making fun of people who were expressing skepticism of the #Artemis II images in Instagram comments and while it's true that a lot of folks are just spreading conspiracy theories, there are misconceptions that can just be addressed directly!

I would volunteer to stick dipoles on the moon’s surface for ya! At higher freqs I also wouldn’t complain if there was a practical solution to give us back access to large volumes of the universe in HI that are now impossible due to satellites. 😔

The machines are fine. I'm worried about us. On AI agents, grunt work, and the part of science that isn't replaceable.

Ljungleden: Ride through beautiful countryside. May or may not have seen some standing stones (not on any verified source I’ve found yet) but in the process learned we missed legit Viking rune stones(!). Camping next to a bird sanctuary lake, and spoke to some locals about their Easter bonfire.

Today I discovered there’s a Guinness shortage. 😥 “Do you know why?” I ask the bartender. “Too many young people drinking it.”

Young people, please go back to (or learn to appreciate?) IPA. 😘

IOC fairness in women’s sports policy makes sports less fair for women | Xtra Magazine In banning trans women from the Olympics and mandating strict gender testing, the IOC just set women’s rights overall back

With a policy as sweeping as the IOC’s, “fairness" in women’s sports is actively making sports less fair for women. Because of this policy, it is now harder for women and girls—both cis and trans—to follow their Olympic dreams compared to their male counterparts.

Transgender women athletes banned from Olympics by new IOC policy on female eligibility Transgender women athletes are now excluded from the Olympics after the IOC agreed to a new eligibility policy It aligns with U.S.

This'll have virtually no effect on trans women, who already weren't competing in the Olympics (in the more than 20 years in which trans women could participate in the Olympics, a grand total of... 1 actually made a team. She came in dead last in her event).
