The low health leaves you very little room to learn boss patterns in the part of the game that should be most accessible.

You've missed a damage upgrade.

Silksong's first act is very punishing on the first playthrough. It definitely eases up in the second act when you have better access to upgrades.

You can get away with architecting kind of shitty when it comes to coding but you absolutely cannot when it comes to narrative writing and it always cooks me at the start of every project.

IG will learn about your profile from the people who follow you and like your stuff, so if it's substantially mixed you can end up delivering stuff to the wrong cohort.

Doesn't apply if all your art fans are also game fans!

My biggest lesson learned is to just wait on the marketing until I'm way closer to launch. I started with Doomsday when I was ~2 years out, and I think it would have been better to wait until I was ~6 months out.

I gave your IG a look - make a new account for your game. It will help.

I like Reddit for city builders, survival games, etc., that might do well on r/gaming, but you have to put in a lot of time to get past the mod team and they absolutely play favorites.

Otherwise the time investment vs payoff is a bit awkward.

IG's poor with discoverability- they seed videos towards your following list and an algorithm change there can be pretty difficult to overcome.

I had decent results seeding it with a small ad buy first.

TikTok might be easier- their discoverability is much better and you can reuse videos.

I wouldn't want some far right religious nuts from another country to be able to pull things from my storefront either- seems like kind of an easy political win.

The US government is captured by the worst, dumbest people imaginable for now- but this is an issue that expands beyond just the United States and regulation by other large players like Europe can and has been effective with similar issues.

Withholding payouts and deleting games from user's libraries is simply unacceptable.

Payment processors also look like they're in dire need of a political check on their influence.
