SLIGHT SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING OF BOOK 2
we reach a real heartbreaking lowpoint, and just end there. I'd ordered Oath of Gold and it came in yesterday, I finished Divided Allegiance and started it right then and there.
I'm just unreasonably invested in this story
started (and finished) Divided Allegiance by Elizabeth Moon. Absolute treat, prob one of my favourite fantasy books ever. I said for Sheepfarmers Daughter the story arcs felt flattened (in a good way) and this one's largely the same, but the investment kinda snuck up on my and then it really hit.

* 1 slot (two if i feel like it)

Cover illustration for a disco Elysium fan-made zine. It's nighttime and Harry Dubois stands between a swing and his wrecked car. Kim is inspecting the wreck.
Finally releasing this as a print. The zine was a super success, but if you'd also like it on your wall, it's currently 30% off! (As well as everything else in my store!)
warm up and use a bigger brush/ draw smaller. theres a flow that builds just like with anything, starting cold makes it a real chore. for me, the latter stops me from obsessing over being too clean. trying to fit two 3px lines perfectly together is useless and kills all energy. use a brush you like
that said availability became iffy, i ordered the third book second hand just now. theres an even longer follow up series which im gonna get into but having come out in 2010 the covers look (for my taste) dreadful. theyre these odd photocollage-type covers. they also cost double
reading Divided Allegiance (book 2 of Deed of Paksenarrion) by Elizabeth Moon (loving it, will write a review in my usual thread) and reminded as always how much I love old mass market paperbacks. wonky art, tiny size, low quality paper, excellent reading experience
A green-backed flycatcher was sipping nectar from a plum blossom. Itβs such a pretty color.

thank you!
Brandon Sanderson's upcoming book "The Fires of December," along with the rest of Hoid's Storybook Collection, are currently available on Backerkit! I'm excited to share a peek at one of the many illustrations I painted for the novel.

The traveler passed through a path where a massive old tree lay fallen. For a moment, he sensed something, but perhaps it was just his imagination. He paused briefly and looked around, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

feels like a thing for me but I've talked before about the state of online art tutorials, this is just to add that they tend to teach things that never occur in isolation, in grossly out of scale isolation. (3/3)
volume, how they conform to a body, and design is infinitely more important. you'll never be in a position where you're stuggling with a drawing and a tutorial about a singular fold will be helpful to you. (2/3)
having done a ton of clothing studies last month (smth ive always been shit at) and now constantly seeing 'folds tutorials': folds are easy, and almost entirely irrelevant if youre trying to learn to draw clothes. (1/3)

finished Emperor of Thorns. think I forgot to post about it. had a blast, super entertaining edgefest though the endings of every book came a bit fast.
