kinda unsurprising, given it's apparently not a genuine image from NASA - it therefore follows that someone's either photoshopped it, or much more probably (and problematically!) used AI to generate it

Largely text-based graphic sharing that research paper highlights a new tool enhancing diagnostic accuracy for ME/CFS in clinical settings. Image of paper title, authors, and journal with the QR code and photo of Jaime Seltzer (white woman with long curly hair wearing glasses, green shirt, and black blazer.) Text: Building tools that clinicians actually use—tools that reflect what patients experience—requires lived experience leadership at the table from day one. MEAction Scientific Director Jaime Seltzer is co-first-author with Stephanie Grach, MD.
We’re excited to share a new study about the ME/CFS diagnostic & treatment algorithm that #MEAction’s Scientific Director & Mayo Clinic researcher-clinicians created, as part of the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine grant.

I spent today at the hospital and didn’t see a single respirator (other than my own).
There were a few people wearing surgical masks.
Signs saying it was a “mask friendly” environment.
No free masks.
No mask mandates.
Tons of coughing & sickness.
Masks belong in healthcare. Period.
“What I didn’t know was that measles can cause long-term complications. A child can seem fine while the virus slowly replicates in her brain… Because both Britain and the United States are confronting outbreaks, I am sharing my story. Parents should know just how dangerous this disease is.”
I lost my Mom to pancreatic cancer when she was 48.
She lost her Mom (my grandmother) at 53.
It’s a devastating disease that’s almost always diagnosed too late.
Screening tools are woefully inadequate, so I can’t even go for regular testing to rule it out.
This news gives me so much hope.
relatable... 8 doctors over 3 years didn't take my symptoms seriously and that delayed diagnosis/surgery is still impacting my health 30 years later
what I had—an adrenal tumour causing Cushing's syndrome—is rare like 0.7 cases per million/year, but sadly no Dr Google back then to search my symptoms
fucking patriarchal bullshit, isn't it 🙄
talented driver
thanks, that's really appreciated 🥲
ugh that sounds awfully frustrating!
yeah I think our system is better than many, but as I've discovered during the last few years since Nop's had multiple admissions each replete with bureaucratic bullshit that defies common sense, it's certainly not without issues 😤
Truly remarkable how many people have told the Pope, in some way or another, to "shut up and dribble." Or corrected him on the Bible, despite their thin education on theology. Or told him to stay out of US affairs, despite him being a US citizen. The hubris is amazing.
thanks hon x
A graphic of the article headline, with the logo for People at the top followed by the headline, "EXCLUSIVE: singer Gaelynn Lea as people assume she must be miserable because of her disability: 'I have an awesome life'. Then there is a picture of of Gaelynn Lea playing her violin on a stage at the bottom of the graphic
Woo-hoo!!! 🥳 Thank you SO MUCH to People Magazine for writing about my memoir, the perception of disability, and my music! I am so excited that the book is finally out in the world... Thank you to the many lovely people who are helping to spread the word! ❤️

10/10, no notes 🙌 🙌
which makes being an advocate impossible!
and Nop needing readmission within a few weeks of his last stay has enraged me, cos the lack of home oxygen is a huge factor in that
but I spoke to a very helpful ICU doc last night and he's given me some advice that will hopefully help resolve the problem 🤞
he's at Box Hill Hospital. he's been getting really excellent care from ED & ICU docs, and the fabulous nursing team - it's specifically the respiratory team doctors who have been gatekeeping home oxygen therapy since Nop's emergency admission in late 2023... but they don't return my phone calls,

left: Carly, a dilute calico, just chilling on the sofa right: Choky, a tortie, looking up at the camera wondering why a photo is necessary just because she decided to sit in a cardboard box
but doing that'll be difficult: Nop & I live on opposite sides of Australia & #SevereME means I'm now too disabled to travel to Melbourne to be there for my bf 😥
Nop won't post from hospital but we talk often so I'll post updates and can pass on messages
also Carly & Choky be missing their hooman!😿😿
if he's stable enough he'll go to a high-care ward soon
not sure if the respiratory team docs who've repeatedly failed to provide Nop with apposite treatment—a prescription for home oxygen therapy—are equipped to handle me, now Nop's official advocate, NOT STOPPING UNTIL THEY DO THEIR FUCKING JOB

thanks to doctors gatekeeping whether Nop "deserves" home oxygen therapy, his O2 sat's once again were dropping to 50-60% so he had to call the ambos on Tuesday arvo
this time the ED docs sent him straight to ICU, so at least he's getting high-level care
he was feeling a bit better last night and

yeah Straya is mostly a great place to live, but we have some weird fucking shit too 😂
Mr Hollingsworth! such a passionate and highly articulate contribution 🙌 🙌
lol yes!
one of the key reasons small-scale solar, specifically rooftop panels, has been so widely adopted here is 25+ years of significant federal & state govt subsidies that reduce the capital outlay for home owners, now including additional incentives for landlords to install in rental properties
a dm to my boyfriend where I'm sad about being forced to miss out on participating in the voting process irl, so I sent him a pic of my home made vegetarian democracy sausage
yeah there's some great vego sausages available here... selected election day voting locations even offer meat-free sausage sizzles
frustratingly I've been housebound for the last few years and couldn't vote in person for our 2025 federal election, but managed to make my own vego democracy sausage 😁
I still vividly remember late in 1985 getting my hands on the air freighted (to Australia) special import 7" of this track, and playing it that night on the alt music community radio program I co-hosted
so much love for J&MC 🖤
Every now and then in the past couple weeks I’ve felt like saying “at least George W..” but no, never do that
I haven't eaten meat for 40+ years so I'm a little out of my comfort zone here lol but iirc beef sausages are more common here than pork... regardless of which meat, all "snags" as we call them must contain at least 50% fat-free meat flesh so I guess that's reasonable quality rather than cheap ass?
