Getting tenure was good. Tenure x2 (2nd uni) was good. Full was good. Research, teaching, service awards, all good. But when I was introduced at a talk last night & at the end of the intro my daughter looked up at me and said, "WOW Mom! You've done all that?! Really?! Good job!" - no better feeling.

The fact that the citizenry can now access some otherwise paywalled academic articles for free via the Epstein files 'library' in cases where article PDFs were emailed to him by academics affiliated with him is such a wild commentary on the state of things right now.
The ban on DEI is ideological, not evidence-based. There is abundant evidence showing the effectiveness of many programs now branded as DEI and banned, but it was never about the evidence. This should be a reminder: do not over-rely on good evidence to win political battles.
Please remember that President Carter appointed more minorities and women to the bench than all previous presidents combined. He was the first President to embrace the concept of bringing racial diversity to the federal bench. A key aspect of his legacy.
