I am the above-mentioned partner and just wanted to say that I could hear everyone's voices--Smiley's, Connie's, Peter Guillam's--in my head so vividly as I was reading Karla's Choice, and since I have no internal narrative that's truly a feat. They were so deeply themselves! Favorite book of '24.

Hello sorry sorry I apparently only look at bluesky every couple weeks oh no! But yes, would be happy to teach mending stuff (pink mend is after I learned more!). But also seconding Bombas! I've had their running socks for like four years and they're still going strong! I wear no other socks now!
