Olwen (she/her): "Look at the pretty thing that planted itself in the yard."
Lovely Ollie, and the flower next to you is nice too!

Cover of Wolfpack by Rem Wigmore, featuring a brown-skinned woman holding a coppery fox mask. She is mostly obscured by red smoke and a little below the title is a domed white building on a green mountain
Wolfpack is OUT!
The sequel to Foxhunt, this queer solarpunk adventure features our favourite disaster bard Orfeus climbing to new heights to forge her own way ... but can you really escape the bloodstained past you inherit?

I’m a Nobel Prize-winning immigrant. I can no longer recognize this country.
Attacks on science and immigrants are destroying America.
Thank you #NobelLaureate Jack Szostak for sharing these thoughts, which many US scientists and physicians resonate with

Viktor Orban accomplished so much of what the Trump movement wants to accomplish here
he ruled for 16 years and rewrote the rules in his favor
and still, they threw him out
and you know what? they did it by voting
don’t let anyone tell you voting doesn’t matter

We’re going to have to find another name for administrative law judges. In a lot of important ways, ALJs are not actually judges. They are executive branch officials, as evidenced by the fact that they can be fired for decisions that displease political leaders in the executive branch.

If you aren't watching the return of Artemis II, I completely understand. I'm watching, but I'm nervous about the heatshield.
On Artemis I, it had problems, so they made changes to the flight path, but it's the same heat shield. I won't feel secure until they are on the ground.

Humanity did that. Science did that. Publicly-funded research did that. Excellent universities did that. Diversity did that. International cooperation did that.
Artemis II is a perfect example of what we can do at our best.

For the first time in 54 years we're watching the recovery of a Lunar mission.
Also, I want to point out that my skyline in Blacksky AND in regular Bluesky is almost nothing but talk about Artemis.

A human hand holds a plastic object that is a sort of prism or rectangular plastic object the size of a USB thumb drive. It has blue and red lines that meet in the middle, but sort of cross at each end, producing an extended "X".

Let's learn about some medical research that just left Earth on Artemis II, bound for the silver sphere in the sky.
It's AVATAR, but it doesn't involve blue aliens.
It stands for "A Virtual Astronaut Tissue Analog Response" & it looks like this USB drive-sized device.
