idk at some point the whole "people responding to what they think you wrote" stops being cute.
also there’s like different citations from like four different sites so not sure where the idea that this is a phenomenon isolated to one place is coming from /shrug
why read the comments when the people writing them didn’t read what you wrote?
I don't like these games broadly and even though I know Morrowind is the secret favorite of a lot of Elder Scrolls fans it just couldn't get over any of the same obstacles that keep me from getting into those games.
haven't played them if you'd like to re-roll
The name has always stuck in my head because X-Play made fun of it (because it was a Japanese game, you know) and it's actually kinda weird that this thread has made me aware of how many X-Play associations I have with games of that era and that fucken sucks lmao
no idea where it originates from actually

"if waiting bothers you, do it anyway"
crazy insight coming from the husk of destructoid
I’ve only played X-COM 2 so I can only assume that if it helped lead to that game it must be good
One of the most important games of the last decade.
Probably singlehandedly put Umbreon and Espeon at the top of my Eeeveelution ranking
Not my jam but I do admire the team’s commitment
Game of the forever.
There’s some good nuggets of BioWare in there buried under a game that is kind of crazy to go back to. They had ideas worth iterating on but the window for that studio to make that game and not be immediately (and deservedly) scrutinized has closed.
I have tried so many goddamn times to play this game and bounce off at roughly the same spot every time, being almost immediately after the prologue because I hate its battle system so much.
Never played it if you’d like to re-roll
Was this supposed to be Forza Horizon?
I don’t play World of Warcraft, I play
Obviously there’s some rough edges sanded off but it still captures the most important stuff
It's the best one.
Surprisingly vivid memory of seeing its box art at the local video store but that's all i've got
but for real, I still don't think there's a more bold metatextual work in video games than to do what that game does. given kodaka is back for dr2x2, it might be an odd game to look back on, but for that reason dr2x2 is probably most anticipated Review of the year. can't wait to dig into All That.
Foundational to the genre, one I often forget that I like until I have it in my hands.
You can guess which of the two that might be about.
Nocturne remains one of my core memories from the era because I was still young enough that I had never really seen games or even a lot of media like that. I should go back and finish it now that it's on modern platforms.
Admittedly, it took me a couple tries across several months to finally make my way through it, but it is a super rewarding game and I loved how it handled its final decision(s).
have not played if you'd like to re-roll
I know it was a very troubled game that people love to dunk on for stuff like repeated enviornments and such. I just wish people would dunk on it for the things that actually matter.
Beyond that, it taps into a fanfiction brainrot version of me that I'm nostalgic for. FenHawke rivalry forever.
