Lindsay and Eik also jumped in to present the poster of Diana Angelica Aguilar Ayala (Universidad de Zaragoza) of the joint work of several WP2 teams on: “Impact assessment of inoculum size and recent modifications on the EUCAST reference method for MIC determination of anti-tuberculosis drugs”.
Lindsay presented the work of her and her colleagues on: “Developing reliable EUCAST microtiter broth assays for novel drugs targeting metabolic pathways of Mycobacterium tuberculosis”.
ERA4TB Work Package 2 members Lindsay Sonnenkalb (Forschungszentrum Borstel, Leibniz Lungenzentrum) and Eik Hoffmann (Institut Pasteur de Lille), are attending the ESCMID - European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Global Congress 2026.
On 22nd January 2026, ERA4TB partners from @nicecomms.bsky.social and Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche hosted a webinar on "Modelling the Future: Early-Phase Development and HTA Insights from TBAJ-587".
The recording is now available to view via the ERA4TB website: era4tb.org/video-library/.

As we come to the end of 2025, ERA4TB would like to take this opportunity to wish all our partners, collaborators and followers a wonderful holiday season.
We look forward to continuing our mission of developing new treatment regimens for Tuberculosis in 2026!
In this latest study under @era4tb.bsky.social, researchers adopted physiologically‑based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modelling and used a detailed computational model to project what those concentrations likely are in human lungs (both healthy and TB-infected).

Colleagues from @unizar.es and Università di Pavia also met up with Natalya Serbina from @tballiance.bsky.social Alliance and Khisi Mdluli from The Gates Foundation.
Well done to our consortium members!
Giovanni Stelitano (also from, Università di Pavia) presented his own unmoderated e-poster session, on "Mycobacterium tuberculosis Tryptophan Synthase as a target for novel antitubercular drugs".
This week, we shall find out what else our consortium members got up to during the conference!
Università di Pavia's Deborah Recchia, hosted an unmoderated e-poster session on "Investigating the Impact of Inoculum Size on EUCAST Methodology for MIC Mycobacterium tuberculosis determinations".
A thread 🧵
We have more updates from ERA4TB consortium members who attended The Union World Conference on Lung Health 2025.
Last week, we heard from our Universidad de Zaragoza colleagues Lara Muñoz-Muñoz, Jordana Galizia, and Marie Sylvianne Radoarivelo who each hosted e-poster sessions.
Well done to Jordana, Marie Sylvianne and Lara!
If you are interested in learning more about the above three e-poster presentations; please feel free to contact the mentioned colleagues.
We will providing more updates from ERA4TB in the coming days!
Lara Muñoz-Muñoz (UNIZAR) presented an e-poster presentation on "The impact of phylogenetic lineage on the drug susceptibility of Mycobacterium tuberculosis".
Marie Sylvianne Rabodoarivelo presented an e-poster presentation on "In vitro characterization of GSK2556286 activity in combination with Bedaquiline and Pretomanid against M. tuberculosis"
Jordana Galizia, PhD (UNIZAR), presented an e-poster presentation on "Assessing the translational value of in vitro time-kill assays in TB drug regimens development".
A thread 🧵
ERA4TB consortium members from Università di Pavia, @unizar.es and the @tballiance.bsky.social Alliance attended The Union World Conference on Lung Health (2025) in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Three of our colleagues, from @unizar.es, hosted e-poster presentations for conference attendees.
Fernando Sanz García, from @unizar.es, presented a poster on “An assay toolkit for anti-tuberculosis drugs in the hollow-fiber system”.
The poster informed readers, how key optimization tests that the hollow-fibre system, should require to allow reproducibility and robustness in its results.
From the 6th October 2025 to 7th October 2025, ERA4TB consortium members from @unizar.es, @uc3m.es and @pasteurlille.bsky.social attended MYCOVLC 2025. This annual gathering of Mycobacteria-focused laboratories, based in Spain, took place at CaixaForum in Valencia.
Our latest research under @era4tb.bsky.social, highlights that small adjustments in the hollow fiber assays better reflects how TB drugs really perform.
