Dang, that place was really cool and was one of the better places to get brunch and hangout at as well.

The TN state government treats Memphis like occupied territory, doing everything in its power to take away home rule and extract as much tax revenue as possible.
Memphis was probably the best place in the entire region to be queer in. I miss what we used to have before the terror campaign started
Once when I was going to NYC for a thing, because I was young and dumb and confused the time on the ticket as when last call is, not when the plane is wheels up.
Never again, I always show up too early because I would rather be bored than stressed out.
Bummer. There are some places near the University and the U District that are cool but I don't know how good the selection is. Maybe Adas?
I thought I saw some at the Blick Art in caphill. They don't got them anymore?
10\10, would put on a waterbottle that goes everywhere with me
Here I thought op was talking about fuel cells.
Still electric motor drive and doesn't necessarily entail dumping carbon in the air.
And for aircraft and ships, fuel cells still seem like the better choice. The weight and energy to transfer makes batteries for stuff that size don't make sense.
I want to buy these phones and use them in the US if I'm not already living over there before then.
My phone is 6 years old and I still don't see much difference from a processor or operating perspective to change. It's 100% the battery is long in the tooth.
I have an homage to this game in the Lancer campaign I wrote up involving a doomed colony ship. It's a wonderful story
Small models if anything are more fun because you can experiment and understand the underlying math.
And in theory nothing stops a small LLM from being ethically trained and not having any theft in it. The current plagiarism and slop is 100% because of irresponsible companies with VC cash
At most you would get something couched as an educated guess or maybe a hypothesis. That really depends on the background prompts in the Harness you use.
The corpos do not make this easy to implement because they want rent seeking. This approach is geared towards small LLMs running locally.
Sort of. With the right setups, you can set it so that if it doesn't have anything in the knowledgebase (bunch of documents in a vector database, subject predicate datastores, web search, etc) it will state as much. And any info it does return has sources with links.
To make an LLM do that requires so much tooling and setup. And that setup is unique to each use case and not something you can make relevant to everyone.
And why the corpos refuse to put any of their own energy into vector databases
Same. I wish I could go to RMRRF, but I traveled last month and with the layoff I need to save my money while I boost my skills up.
I figured the site out after you said that. Thanks!
This video making me aware of my previous ideas on humanoid robots. Mostly that only a fool makes a walking robot out of cheap plasticx and have no shock protection for when it falls on its face.
I'm bummed there are no more tickets, dang that would be cool
Bandwidth adds up, no matter how you slice it, and have to add in that cellular networks are notorious for having wildly variable throughput. Also corpos are cheap.
They also tend to use masters oriented towards air pods and shit car stereos. Not my ass with nice headphones and a comfy chair.
I'm wondering how that would even be enforced. Punishing a journalist that points out the change from using a torrented archive? Warrants and extradition?
Hactivists normally don't give a crap about embarrassing a government or a corporation.
And US law is so porous it might as well not exist
Got me off my ass to start backing up and storing stuff in ZFS.
I've already noticed just how compression deep baked and tinny all the streamed stuff is.
Analogue preservers and Offliners shake hands.
Very reasonable. It doesn't seem like the sort of game that has hundreds of people in a single instance like EVE
That is ice. The tanks have liquid oxygen in them. Depending on the rocket upper stages could also have liquid hydrogen in them.
The methane engines alot of folks switching too are closer in consistency of a slush.
Very cold, even with the insulation.
Anybody who builds offline AI knows the intelligence claims is a crock and marketing BS.
The performance curve to get past undergrad dumbass stuff requires so much resources and energy and go up exponentially.
AGI ain't happening with the Harvard Architecture we use for all modern computers.
Coots and their funny looking feet fill me full of joy.
Now this is the sort of stuff I like. Hopefully it can be kept secure enough for nerds to keep it from getting attacked.
I'm guessing that scraping and torrents is the only way that historical records of the Internet is kept anymore.
From the open internet, to the Guerilla Internet
At this point it's only the Makers that still build stuff with local servers and autonomous infrastructure.
Our equipment and lives should never be at the whims of some pumped up corpo or a politician trying to implement a panopticon that causes more problems than it solves.
Not to mention that it would mean only printers that are forced to connect to a cloud would work. Which means only Bambu Labs has machines that would work
Which if you work on anything sensitive or security oriented means no printing at all, because cloud connect is an infosec nightmare.
Yeah visas become a giant pain in the ass because of how they have to match your passport due to how international law works.
I have to get mine renewed this year, and it sucks
Cait could have avoided this all if she had used her rich lady money to not throw all the other trans folk under the bus
I say as I prefer male voices for assistants. But I notice a distinct gendered politics thing.
It's very hard to find baritone or bass voices. Mostly tenors. Defaults is female with a bubbly soprano with more expert being an Alto.
Baritone and Bass reserved for authority command things. Icky
