I don't think people understand how hard it is to work in the video-game industry right now. If you've been laid off, it can take months if not years to find new work. If you haven't been laid off, you're anxious that you will be laid off.

Hey babes so like, the industry will have you thinking your worth is tied to your job. It’s not.

Especially in an industry that will cut thousands of people overnight.

Layoffs are meant to mess with your confidence, stability and sense of self.

You didn't lose your value.

The system failed you.

we've come up with a system where you can demonstrate growth to shareholders by hiring more people than you should, but also you can demonstrate growth by firing more people than you should. we call it the economy and we think it's going to be great

Small note. Mass layoffs like these are also a tactic to devalue the work because workers become more desperate while companies create false scarcity.
