I swear I see more intelligence in the eyes of this chicken than I’ve seen in some people lately!

Big tide country! Fishing boat off Parrsboro Nova Scotia.
The tidal flow in the deep, 5-kilometre-wide channel equals the combined flow of all the rivers and streams on Earth, estimated at about 4 cubic kilometres per hour.

They are doing well. I think they’re smart enough to recognize their predators, and they know man is not one!

Female Northern Cardinal
It’s true! The male Y chromosome took all the red color, leaving only tiny crumbs for mama!

Lol yes, I think they are responsible for those reports of huge pterodactyl type beasts in the sky. If you see them flying overhead and they’re backlit by the sun, it’s easy to imagine a pterodactyl!

I agree. I’m just trying to get a reaction!

Mostly lighting and tight focus in on a small area of the bird gives a different perspective. If I showed you a picture of the whole bird, you wouldn’t focus in on the areas that you’re looking at in this crop, accenting its whiskers and fine delicate feathers!

Good size, versatile for close and farther out targets!

Definitely a blue jay. We’re in eastern Canada, and this is our blue jay.
The white you are seeing is on its breast, as this is extreme closeup. It has blue back and wings.

Hi Joyce, I used a Canon 5Dsr and a Canon L series 300mm lens.

You could be right! All depends how the feed algorithms work and what happens when you like a certain pic. And, this is a new app. Lots of fine tuning as it grows.

Yeah, that’s bad stuff. Hollywood would use it to kill people in movie scenes!

Great Blue Heron #4
So, my top 3 performing pics (on likes) are all heron pics, and I'm definitely getting the hint. This group likes herons!
Here's another. If you guys like this one too, I'll try to follow up with more!

Atlantic Fury
My favourite wave pic, taken during a storm blowing on the south shore of #novascotia, December 2020. 4-5 meter swells pounded the rocks for hours. This was taken at a safe distance using a telephoto lens.
