This may be the most powerful 85 seconds I've ever seen on television.
Somebody is making a fortune on the war with inside information and it is grotesquely corrupt.
“They got money for wars, but can’t feed the poor.” — Tupac said it years ago… and here we are.
The Pentagon is now asking for an additional $200 BILLION for this war.
We always find the money for war.
But when it comes to housing, healthcare, or feeding people? Suddenly it’s crickets.
Crockett: "What if someone from another country said 'We're gonna bomb America bc we have a warrant for the president's arrest bc of the child sex trafficking in the Epstein files.' Every single one of you sticking up for him right now would be screaming. The analysis has to be the same."
In 1997, Wyandotte County merged to create a "Unified Government of Wyandotte County / KCK."
thebeaconnews.org/stories/2022...
That means we have one person doing the job of mayor / county executive.
We just elected Christal Watson, the first Black Woman to ever have that office.
KCK homes are relatively affordable compared to the region, and especially compared to the nation. That is due to Wyandotte's perception, when White Flight fled to create affluent Johnson County just south.
But immigration and DINKs have seen KCK's population rebound: www.zillow.com/kansas-city-...
There's a lot of history in KCK thanks to sites like the Quindaro Ruins, which was a stop on the Underground Railroad, where white, Black, and Native Americans lived together in the 1850s.

We have the best high school in all of Kansas with Sumner Academy:
www.usnews.com/education/be...
The history of Sumner HS goes back even further, with its origins as the school for students pre-integration, where Black excellence in teaching and students had some amazing individuals come through.
And while the KC region as a whole takes pride in its BBQ, KCK punches well above its weight for being the home of SLAPS, Woodyard, Jones BBQ (Queer Eye fame), and Joe's (Anthony Bourdain's favorite).

Wyandotte is the second most diverse county in the United States, just behind Dade County in Florida.
And we have some of the best BBQ, tacos, and people in the country. In that order: our food scene is amazing.
We were picked as the TACO CAPITAL OF THE COUNTRY.

LUHAN: Is the FCC an independent agency?
CARR: I think th---
L: Yes or no
C: There's a test for this in the la---
L: It's yes or no, Brendan! On your website, it simply says, man, 'the FCC is independent.' This isn't a trick question
C: The FCC is not
L: So is your website lying?
C: Possibly
This is extremely important
81 years ago, FDR proposed a second Bill of Rights to guarantee every American the right to employment, healthcare, education, housing, and a living income. His words are as relevant now as they were then. Watch.
Tonight was a very bad night.
Exactly. In the EU, Mamdani would be considered a centrist.
If you've never done so, you really should visit a place like Denmark and see how things actually work, versus the doom and gloom peddled by the GOP.

The nation is about to learn who Patrick Penn is.
The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion.
The entire bottom 50% of America is worth just $4.2 trillion.
Read that back.
When 400 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.
I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.
Pope Leo XIV weighed in on U.S. politics, saying Catholic politicians must be judged on the full range of their policy positions and suggesting the country's immigration policy is "inhuman."
"Don't Obey in Advance" means don't do this:
The richest man on earth owns X.
The second richest man on earth is about to be a major owner of TikTok.
The third richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
The fourth richest man owns The Washington Post.
See the problem here?
If a government tells you that you can’t call it authoritarian, it’s authoritarian.
After enacting the largest SNAP cuts in history, Trump is now scrapping the federal government's annual report on hunger in America.
The utter cruelty of this regime knows no bounds.
Universal childcare wouldn't just relieve working families of a massive cost burden. It improves the whole economy.
"There are a lot of reasons building a child care system that works for everyone is important to our children, to parents, to employers and to economic growth."
More than 1800 detainees are missing after the closure of Alligator Alcatraz. Their families and lawyers can’t find them and they’ve vanished from the ICE database. Feels like this should be a much bigger story www.miamiherald.com/news/local/i...
The salient question, according to Randy Callstrom, the CEO of Wyandot Behavioral Health Network in Kansas City, Kansas, is where will people go?
In Kansas, he said, there is no place for people to turn.

FEMA is preparing to send $608 million to states to construct immigrant detention centers as part of the Trump administration’s push to expand capacity to hold migrants.
The mass starvation & killing of Palestinians in Gaza at the hands of the Israeli gov’t is a chillul hashem, a desecration of God.
Jewish leaders who criticized Zohran Mamdani for three words he doesn’t use should raise their voices loudly here as well.
