A new release, and a little story for you.

In centuries past, both wine and cider makers often added selected herbs and spices to make a wine or cider taste more like another wine, or to just make them tastier. 🧵

This is a great piece of observation by Adam on the opportunities for keg conditioned cider. Breaking into the draught market will be one of low intervention ciders greatest challenges.

Cider Review’s review of the year: 2023 We look back at another year in cider and perry – and brace ourselves for the next

There’s a round-up of 2023 by the various contributors to @ciderreview.bsky.social this morning, including @amethystheels.bsky.social. Mine feels a little darker than usual 😬🙂

It’s been an honour to contribute to the only site I know with such a collective of writers, dedicated to cider and perry.

The diary of a hapless harvest hand Adam actually does some work

Given my day of sorting and pressing today, Adam Wells’ wonderfully descriptive piece on @ciderreview.bsky.social brings it all together. The toil, as he summarises it, is the unseen part of making aspirational cider & why I always respect & want to support those makers doing everything themselves.

We are here! Our famous technological proficiency should see us having figured out how here works in a mere matter of months.
