I finished painting this fencer lady:

Managed to get Speakeasy to the table. Forgot to take an after photo. Four player game and will say the minimal actions and board space makes for a tight game if you’re looking to cook books. First and second were kind of run away with third and fourth being very close together.

You're looking at velvet malachite, Cu2CO3(OH)2.

A few warnings:
Please resist the urge to touch it to feel how soft it is.
Absolutely /do not/ lick it.
Keep far away from any Supermen.
If a wingéd creature emerges, do not agree to any pacts.

We started our afternoon game session with Cosmic Run Regeneration. A great push your luck dice chucking game by Dr Finn. The end of the game can be quite tense and exciting as the planets explode and we run out of time to score points.

This is Achrioptera manga, a giant phasmid or stick insect native to Madagascar.

The specific epithet, "manga" means blue in Malagasy & it's not hard to see why. Only males are blue.

The tiny back wings ("alae") are an example of brachyptery: they're useless for flight, but have other functions.

Got SETI to the table after getting to try it out at @conofthenorth.bsky.social. As expected I got demolished 😅 But ahead of that while we were punching out pieces I thought it was really cool how they saved cost on the player boards! (Or at least I assume it saved cost)
