as it gets closer to the end, the movie just becomes more and more ridiculous, and not in a camp way, just messy.

i liked the idea of the flashback to bring context but then having a third party explain everything for the viewer to understand just felt insulting 😭

that weird tonal shift when AJ was introduced didn’t make sense to me and really broke the immersion. it felt random rather than intentional.

there are some cool shots here and there, and some basement scenes actually land as scary, but the poor writing brings everything down too much. the acting didn’t fully sell it either.

thought i’d give zach cregger a second chance but yeah no, i think his work is just not for me.
