The funny thing is these new "ai search" or less vulnerable to filter bubbles than regular Google. If you search for flat earth say you may get flat earther webpages... Ask a LLM even if you insist it will most certainly lecture you it's not true...ha

This whole ‘LLMs/GenAI are inherently sycophantic and will only give you what you want to hear and hence it cannot be used for retrieval meme is really oversold and librarians need to be careful not to fall for it (1)

All of these problems will get better. In fact, I think some of these issues are currently due to computational/cost tradeoffs. If you let consensus, undermind use chatgpt PRO type computational cost, it might be better at source selection or reasoning about them.(5)
