“Yet no official record was kept: no minutes, no transcript. Just a handshake, a quiet word, and — for many — a growing unease”.
Why was this visit not properly recorded and how could this not be seen as a conflict of interests given Mandelson’s role steering govt and being Ambo to Washington?

Yeah
RFK Jr. just said HHS is "cleaning up the risk pool" (i.e., people who are unhealthy) to bring down healthcare costs.
RFK Jr no longer disguising his MAHA movement for what it really is: eugenics
The study certainly appears to add to evidence that ‘COVID vaccination can play a role in reducing disease burden and associated costs, and it highlights the value of increasing vaccination.’

“Farage rarely turns up to do his actual job. Yet he finds time to jet off around the world on his donor’s private plane and trouser half a million quid while families struggle. Reform are not on your side. They’re just in it for themselves”
It’s so obvious, it hurts.

A logarithmic line chart showing COVID‑19 trends in England from Feb 2020 to Apr 2026. Four lines track cases (orange), hospital patients (blue), deaths (red), and PCR test positivity (purple). Earlier pandemic waves appear as large peaks; recent levels are lower but persistent. Chart is independently produced using official UKHSA, NHS England, and ONS data.
England’s latest COVID data tell a story we’re barely hearing anymore.
• 373 cases
• 338 in hospital
• 15 deaths
• 2.1% positivity
The virus is still circulating, still causing infections, hospitalisations, Long COVID — and still taking lives.
What’s changed isn’t the risk, but the attention.
A mass shooting that took the lives of eight children should stop this country in its tracks. Instead, the Shreveport tragedy disappeared from the headlines in a day. We cannot allow this level of violence to fade into background noise. Ending America’s gun‑violence epidemic is a moral oblligation.
OMFG I had to go and check that this ACTUALLY happened.
Since when does the BBC ever do chyrons with a political party's branding, rather than their own? Not to mention this is during a pre-election campaign purdah.

I don't know about the rest of you but this is a little scary. I can see why the Pope is speaking out. I think I can safely say that the vast majority of Canadians want nothing to do with this man or his movement.
Amazon, which saved $4B in taxes under Trump's Big Ugly Bill, has cut 30,000 jobs since last October.
Verizon, which saved $2B, plans to cut 15,000 jobs this year.
Meta, which saved $3B, plans to lay off 20% or more of its workforce.
Trickle-down economics is a cruel joke.
An advert promoting an AI company at Bristol Airport has been pulled after backlash.
The advert showed a female AI worker who will 'never ask for a raise'.
But papers like the Times and broadcasters like the BBC just crawl up Farage’s backside instead of asking him the difficult questions and scrutinising his past failures.
Don’t pretend to care about probity with Starmer if you’re willing to red-carpet this piece of utter filth into Number 10.
I'm a huge fan of forfeited trump family assets funding infrastructure projects and a Dept of Education expansion and upgrade for decades and decades to come after they're seized in a few years.
I am finishing up a book on early modern news in Europe, and I think I am aware of most research published in English, French and German. But I want to cite, mention and refer to much more relevant literature done in Europe on the topic. So, #skystorians communities with knowledge of ...

Recent publicly seen usecases of 'AI':
- Mass murder in Gaza
- Mass murder in Iran
- Proliferation of denuding women on social media
- Iranian, Chinese, and White House propaganda
'AI' boosters: This is going to change the world!
Public: In a good way?
This column is the best response I've seen so far to the thuggery of last weekend. And it made me realise that this image of Trump is what I was metaphorically seeing in every one of those men who like Trump deserve to face consequences for their actions but are quite sure they won't.

@fotoole.bsky.social Did you notice that during the protest there was a major OECD report released on the massive ongoing & future impact of long Covid. Reported in @irishtimes.com @irishexaminer.bsky.social @irishmedicaltimes.bsky.social @bloomberg.com @euronews.com @financialtimes.com
So many of us who advocated for N95s were told to avoid COVID by hand washing.
This apology doesn’t rectify the ongoing problem; the general population still thinks COVID isn’t airborne and even our hospitals aren’t instituting masking to protect our most vulnerable patients.
