It gets a little sad seeing things play out with people I know in the space moving on to greener pastures (for completely understandable reasons) but the memories I have of the things we've done together will forever be dear to me.

This is probably not gonna go anywhere, but I might as well call out that it's the Spotify model of revshare but for games, which famously doesn't pay anyone fairly.
I've also never heard of this organization until today or, with respect to the devs, any of these games

The fucked up thing about being pushing 30 is that I just don't have the time or energy to commit to as many projects as I'd like. I don't even have that many commitments compared to people my age and I can only imagine how much worse it's gonna be when I do.

As I get older I think more about taking up a more supporting role in the fanmusic space rather then participating in it.

It's not out of lack of love for the scenes I'm in, it's more that I want to make room and give opportunities who have the capacity to be more active then me.

Anyway, Toby Fox seems like a cool guy but I'm under no illusion that he's my friend because he made my favorite game.

I think criticism can be constructive if it's done in good faith and I don't think that can happen on social media.

All that being said, I think hand-waving people being concerned about the lack of a localization into their language as "drama" is missing the point. I think if you have the resources to localize your game, you should do so even if it's post launch.

I'm not gonna wade into the Discourse too much here.

Localization takes a long time to do and I get wanting to get it right. A lot of games, even AAA, don't launch with localizations in every language.

Even if it's after launch, I do think it's worth doing the work to translate a game.
