anecdotal but even working in tech, where most seem very pro-genAI on the surface, a lot of people i've spoken too have confessed underlying skepticism. i feel this entiiiire hype cycle is just a handful of diehard permanently out-of-touch tehcbros and then a wake of people trying to remain relevant
isnt one of the core tenets of game design meant to be making players *feel* smart and powerful by subtly assisting them without them noticing? this feels fundamentally incompatible with that whole idea, and if anything just encourages lazier design

They absolutely will enshittify; the entire business model that these AI companies are operating on is about burning VC money to establish market share and get people dependent on the service as a critical part if their work, then wringing them dry to reach profitability

i find it so... interesting that AI adverts seem to consistently portray their users as the stupidest people imaginable? other products will try to be aspirational, but with AI they outright tell you you're so dumb and lazy that you need a computer to help you with basic common tasks and logic
