When I was young, my father took me to a beautiful library, although I was blessed with books of my own, including The Little Prince, The Hobbit, and Lord of the Rings. It was a magical experience to be in the presence of so many books and the smell! I remember choosing Edith Hamilton’s Mythology.

Great choice, and a great example of a faithful film adaptation of King’s work. This book certainly influenced me from an early age. I read it when I was about sixteen years old and quoted the Hitler line in a school paper.

How does one “show” without a bit of “tell” in a novel? Most well-written, distinguished books have quite a bit of description & narrative. I believe this rule was meant for screenplays & plays, but not necessarily for novels. Different mediums entirely—although, excessive exposition is odious.
Thiel is behind this move. He is invested heavily in psychedelic pharmaceuticals.
