... I can rant about my hatred of that anime adaptation (and how it made a lot of people who barely looked at it or the manga generalize it all as shitty grimdark edgy crap) for days on end.

In the manga its a funny moment built entirely on the paneling and structure; Playing his obcession with goblins for a short laugh.
In the anime is all shot and played like an edgy, serious moment "he is so focused on killing goblins, how edgy is that!?" sort of deal.

Full on turned it all into fanservice, focused non stop on the fanservice and making everything be as edgy as possible, down to removing moments of levity by trying to play them straight.
Best example being GS meeting his future party (cont)

God, the goblin slayer anime remains one of my most hated of all times due to how badly it botched the tone of the adaptation.
Manga was full on horror, with any 'erotic' elements depicted as absolutely horrific.
With levity in just the right places to keep it from being too much.

It does give me a theory about the remake trilogy tho, one I dont think I see anyone else touch on...

@everyone As some of you might know, some emergencies have occurred recently. My surgery was followed by my dog's vet care and that was then followed by the hospitalizations of my wife's family. The FF7 characters kinda got Flanderized in the worst way in FF7 expanded material. Like, a lot of folks forget how spunky Aerith was in the first disk, and that Cloud was only obnoxiously broody when he was poorly projecting Zack onto himself.
