Been very wary of the nationalism of USA citizens since I was a boy. Domestic Instability and a loss of foreign foothold for a state like Russia where the highest value chips that remain are nuclear…does not lead to good things. They are not an example of strength but you better believe they are powerful and they are extremely wary of US/NATO on their doorstep

I think that’s highly disingenuous. Nukes definitely do mean shit and if you think the Russians aren’t ’suicidal’ or at least that we don’t believe they could be I think you should check out the Cold War, particularly the chapter on Cuba. The issue definitely is defined by ‘nukes innit’.
