For my hometown specifically (~32,000) there is a large number of single location family restaurants with the most mid food you’ll ever eat. Nothing outright bad, no health violations, no bizarre ingredients/menu items, just 100% pure mid-ness.

We had an odd spat of weather up here too. The sky was suddenly overcast, there was a big boom of thunder, then it rained for about 20 seconds before clearing up like nothing had happened.
Before Coil there was Zos Kia, a lineup that featured John "Zoskia" Gosling along with John Balance, Min and occasionally Peter Christopherson, featured here on a killer set of 1983 recordings including material recorded just as Coil came into existence

Today I was struggling to find something to listen to at work and I remembered having this in my Bandcamp collection. It’s a brief but interesting snapshot of a particular corner of Japanese pop in the 80s.
It has also sent me down a 小川美潮 rabbit hole.

I’m not saying the breed is dumb as a whole, but every borzoi I’ve met has been a very dumb dog.

If I get 86 more followers Ill be able to live stream guitar too which i think would be really cool - they just only let 1k accounts stream for some reason
Hey, did you know Haruomi Hosono scored a soundtrack for an obscure rail shooter for the PlayStation? And that the audio is fully playable if you put the game disc in your CD player? Here's the story of a hidden gem by one third Yellow Magic Orchestra. 🚀

I’ve been trying more N/As recently and so far this one has been the closest to its original counterpart.
@cyrthogg.bsky.social I’m confused, what was that argument at 1st about? Was that not the third (failed) pickoff attempt by the Marlins’ pitcher?
I get the bit about the 1st baseman needing to retreat towards first but why is that even an issue in this situation unless I hallucinated a prior throw?
Liszt – Totentanz musical score.
'Franz Liszt’s colossal 1849 work Totentanz sits at the frontiers of Iraemania. The piece is entirely based around Dies Irae, and Liszt imbues nearly every single one of his 531 bars with it.'

Apparently the great James “Blood” Ulmer is having some issues at the moment according to a FB post by Grant Weston.
“Amin and I took a drive up to New York to see James Blood today he’s talking well feeling good and so so happy to see us and we’re very blessed to be able to be by his side Amen.”

This book has a habit of making its way back into my life now and again. Today I found this copy at the Milwaukee Central Library’s bookstore while attending the Milwaukee Zine Fest.
Fossil Cocoon: the music of K. Yoshimatsu
Music from Alejo - Masahiro Sugaya
Today’s pickups from Acme Records in Milwaukee. I had no idea Masahiro Sugaya’s early works had been reissued; I’m very eager to dig in to that one. Also very happy to have a physical copy of Fossil Cocoon.

How Sunn O))) Taught Us to Listen Beneath the Surface. The drone metal's noise is as beautiful and brutal as you give it a chance to be.

Eisenberg plays like a musical Bildungsroman filled with mature reminiscences on old dreams, the invisible coordination of a family, the constant mutations of life as it moves towards death, and learning to embody yourself on the way there

Interview with Shane Parish
Source: 15 questions. In classical terminology, Shane Parish's Autechre renditions are hardly “historical practise.” Performed on an acoustic guitar and in an intimate setting, they're not transcriptions - but attempts to uncover something hidden, distil an essence,…
