This warped process also eliminated or avoided appropriate conditions for proper comparison, as Ciarán Ferrie points out above.

There is no clear picture of how GMATS would work without the N6GCRR, because there was never a plan to do so.

The result is an ACP decision that is at best questionable.

Racists brining the country to a standstill this week (under guise of fuel crisis) tried to intimidate one of the great charities in the country last night.

MSOÉ have been feeding the unhoused for 11 years on O Connell street.

Ugly scenes but beautiful show of solidarity from the people they feed.

Do those calling for the Irish government to allow oil and gas drilling think that those companies are going to sell it to them at a discount? No! They‘ll sell it at the global wholesale price.

I think the ill defined "other" is often labelled "townie" who according to some non townies "get everything".. So whether they're working class or not, can be dismissed as privileged because most services are (naturally) in towns and cities.

I think the figure I heard from Tommy Dooley td on prime time was a price cap would cost 1B a month, and I assume that's at current oil prices, and the effects of hormuz won't be felt fully for another week as final oil tankers reach Europ

Summer 2025 was the warmest on record in Ireland.

The Council’s latest report shows it was 1.94°C above the long-term average, with warmer night-time temperatures a major part of that change.

By having a world class bus system, you take cars off the road, a ring road will take cars of some majorly congested Rds agreed, but will do More to unlock land banks for developers on edge of city than reducing congestion, negating the whole point of the ring rd

I'd be inclined to trust @cosaingalway on this, ring road will most likely result in a higher share of Galway journeys being by car, cant say that'll be more sustainable. A commute from knocknacarra to Parkmore needs to be quicker by bus than car for us to meet sustainability targets imo.

It'll be up to LAs to determine what's derelict. I'm aware Cork city council have told ye before that #1 on the daily dose isn't considered derelict.. Results across LAs will be widely different if criteria isn't made clear for each LA

Opinion: Don’t ditch the triple lock. There is a better way to circumvent the Security Council Ireland should initiate campaign to support UN General Assembly role in peacekeeping

Instead of turning its back on the need for UN approval to participate in peacekeeping, Ireland should now try to muster other members of the General Assembly to defend the UN and keep peace operations going.

Taken from reddit. But this Galway commuter has tracked their rainy days while cycling! Very interesting, and as an ex Galway commuter myself, id believe it. I would say 1/5 days required rain gear.
