We still have tons of those custom built (at about 100k each) EV vehicles sitting and rotting at our Hamilton-Niagara area plant while our crappy Ford transits and mail trucks often don't have air conditioning during warm months where interior truck temps can reach 50 degrees Celsius

Would also like to add that registered mail is an underrated feature!
Especially with all the scammers out there claiming to be with the CRA

Dismantling Canada Post for parts Canada’s mainstream media’s convergence was on full display today.

Why are Canadian media reporting on Canada Post as if they've all been given a script to follow? Journalists are interfering with the union's contract ratification vote by parroting Canada Post management's talking points and telling Canadians that it isn't viable.

We don't really have good public transit either but I hear ya.

Anand when a Canadian woman is killed by a random gunman in Mexico: I will move mountains to discover everything related.
Anand when a Canadian man is killed by Israel in Lebanon: Damn this sucks. Let's make sure we all stay cool in the future.

Here's a nice sample of some of what happened in Hamilton in 2015 the last time Canada Post tried to take away door to door. Residents took matters into their own hands, camping out to prevent installation of boxes. The city of Hamilton sued Canada Post after presentations by CUPW Hamilton.

The answer is no, you do not. Even taking cabs regularly can be cheaper than having your own car.

Oh they're making someone a profit though.

We spent 2.6 trillion on defense since 2018 and the military still isn't making a profit. 🤷

The Future of Postage Pricing The Federal Government, in its 2025 Budget (Bill C-15) gives Canada Post a free hand to set postage rates through its proposed changes to the Canada Post Corporation Act. While we hope it means that G...

Since costs are borne by the person sending the letter, this seems like very poor planning (at best) by Canada Post: "Between 2018 and 2023, Canada Post only raised its rates 7% at the time when major post offices around the world raised theirs an average of 55%" www.cupw.ca/en/future-po...

Look at Purolator's profits over that time. Despite being over 90% owned by Can Post and poaching profitable parcel routes from CP, leaving the unprofitable ones, not one cent of their billions in profit over that time counts on CP's books.
CP is being deliberately destroyed and you're being conned.

Why? I'm just talking about net loss, not total cost.

... ?

They operated at a loss and that loss over eight whole years was $6.1B. Net loss.

Canada Post delivers to 17.6 million addresses every day (business and residential). At 260 work days per year, that is 4.57 billion deliveries each year. Over eight years, that is 36 billion mail deliveries in 8 years.

Canada post delivered mail 36 billion times and it only cost $6.1 billion.

It's at least consistent!

That's it? $6.1B in eight years? We gave Ukraine $25B in four and didn't even get daily mail out of it.

They'll probably just change it once a year to be obstinate and watch Alberta slowly grow totally out of sync with the rest of Canada, but then slowly get back to the right time 24 years later.

I feel like if you're teaching a kid a language that they understand better than you do, you shouldn't grade like an idiot.

My kid lost two marks on an English test for saying that Toronto is situated on the northwest corner of lake Ontario and in Canada. She was supposed to give two pieces of information.
