It is scary for all of us right now I think. And yes, heartbreaking. Surely in our daughters’ lifetime (mine is 27) the world will right itself. Hoping and praying it to be so.

From my experience having said goodbye to several dogs and cats over the years, my (admittedly unscientific) observation is that cats grieve differently. Stopping mid-activity to gaze up at a corner of the room—always the same corner, needing more lap time, eating less for awhile. She misses Layla.

Truly saddened, Jonathan, for you and your daughter. It’s so hard to lose those we love. I hope it brings you hope to know that Layla will greet you someday just beyond the rainbow bridge and she (and you) will be healthy again. What a joyful reunion!
