Mainly because I don’t have time to go through receipts, and in the past, even when controversies have involved people I know, I’ve been totally mislead. I’m not helping by taking part in the court of public opinion so I stay outta that…
But as a writer I can def say the script was not great xP
It’s “The Jax Show” — some of the script was leaked, and the characterization feels like someone watched the pilot and no other episodes >_>;;
(There are also controversies around people involved in the project, but I won’t speak to that for a lot of reasons.)
I never want to fall into the trap of actually infantilizing Pomni or making her seem constantly annoyed by Jax. OR making Jax perpetually antagonistic.
But I do enjoy their banter & that requires Jax hitting her insecurities just hard enough to be funny/a little annoying but not fully piss her off.
That fan show script drama yesterday has me totally paranoid about the characterization in my fic, esp since the chapter I’m editing has a similar line. I’m wondering if I should scrap it & rewrite stuff (mostly the yellow in the screenshot)

— finally blow up at Jax, it’s after a *lot* of steps. She accepts his shove as a boundary and bounces back from it. She tries to get him to play along with the “betrayal” thing but he won’t do that either. She tries to talk things through with him and it isn’t until he [6/7]
Pomni’s default mode seems to be kinda brusque and leery of people. Once she actually cares about someone, though, she puts up with way more and works harder not to offend them (thinking about her awkwardly telling Ragatha she’s not a huge fan of sports). Even when she does [5/7]
— ditching everyone to stalk Gummigoo and even brushes Gangle off when confronted about it. She initially doesn’t even seem to want to let Gangle vent later on (“we’re doing another one of these…”) but then she offers to take the last part of Gangle’s shift at the end. [4/7]
— but I’d argue she hasn’t shown that she’s really *connected* with any of them yet. She’s obviously annoyed with Kinger for the first half of ep 3, but she rescues him and actually reaches out later on. And then in the next episode she spends a chunk of time [3/7]
In episode 2 she seems irritated by everyone — tells Ragatha she’s not a little kid, straight up cusses Jax out (deserved but what stood out is that she doesn’t even hesitate), bonds with an NPC rather than the other humans. By the end, she realizes they’re there for her, [2/7]

I was thinking about this yesterday but couldn’t articulate it — “anger issues” is def not the right phrasing to describe Pomni, but she seems to have a low tolerance for annoyance & is very blunt … UNLESS she cares about someone. [1/7]
