Photo of a bunch of copper pipes strapped to a low loader in broad daylight, unattended.
'We have a real bad crime problem here' say some people, all while a construction company just leaves £200 worth of copper pipes unattended on a low loader. This city is amazing.

it is about technology in that it allowed people to take advantage of gamestop's cashier and sales systems to function as a bank.
It's hard to know how widespread the use of the bank of gamestop was (or is) but it is funny.

What is the downside to using the "First National Bank of GameStop"?
I am sure some of us have seen the meme about the "First National Bank of GameStop". Now at first it sounds very funny and hilarious, which it is, but I'm in a special scenario where I am located in
Is it a technology? Well, one of my favourites is about the bank of gamestop.
Instead of opening a bank account, you pre order a bunch of video games from gamestop. When you need cash you cancel some pre orders and gamestop refund you that amount, in cash.

we are so cooked that the paid politicians are devoting their time and resources (which we pay for) to this baloney, in the big bad year of 2026. why is helping out some silicon valley tech company with their pipe dreams of self driving cars the big priority. It is bananas.

I used to find patching a bit scary (and lowkey still do) but the fundamentals of
1. Sand punctured area
2. Apply cement, wait to go sticky and dry.
3. Apply more cement, wait a bit until its still semi wet
4. Put on a patch and apply pressure for a few minutes
Work great.

A bicycle inner tube. It has 3 repair patches on it, 2 old and 1 new.
Thrilled that my rear bicycle wheel's inner tube now has 3 repair patches on it. An inner tube is now about £6, so this is £18 saved and the tube works as good as new. Learning to repair and keep things out of landfills is spiritually and monetarily rewarding.

Yes, what if we moved the goalposts again so that this abysmal piece of shit, this walking affront to the democratic process, could just jail anyone he wants rid of? Much to think about

this is like being a first aider, giving someone without a pulse CPR, and then having someone yelling at you at how actually you should be bandaging a cut on their arm because 'we can do both'

BREAKING⚡️The High Court has just ruled that the government's draconian ban of Palestine Action was unlawful. This is a massive blow to the Home Office’s authoritarian approach. They need to stop criminalising people protesting a genocide and start ending the UK's complicity

A meme of someone sneaking up behind an unsuspecting person.
The unsuspecting person is labelled 'politicians too scared to do LTNs and believing in traffic busting roads'
The sneaker is labelled '150 year old victorian cast iron'

Salary sacrifice: What the 2029 changes mean for you
From April 2029, salary sacrifice rules will change, reducing National Insurance savings on pension contributions. Find out what’s changing, who’s affected and what it means for you.
Fun fact the labour party have stopped the number one way in which lower income people have been able to save for retirement (salary sacrifice). From April 2009 salary sacrifice is capped at 2 grand with no guarantee of it going up with inflation.

“Now I know where all the cute P in london is hiding”
London is a city that suits men like Epstein, where extreme wealth, vulgarity and exploitation blend into the humdrum backdrop of ordinary citizens’ lives. It’s a place where bad, rich men can choose to either stand out or hide. Epstein himself delighted in gossip about others who were up to no good, sharing an anecdote about one of Britain’s most prominent businessmen who allegedly paid for his mistress to stay at a flat in one of London’s most prominent addresses.
For Epstein, who courted the friendship of the British elite, all the way up to members of the government and royal family, London’s allure as a sometime base was clear.
As well as a place to do business, London was a playground.
Luxury London brands serviced Epstein and his associates well. There are invoices for stays at Claridge’s hotel and arrangements to meet at Michelin-starred restaurants. Epstein is sent links to Sex Pistols posters for auction at Christie’s. London Centric has found orders from 2019, just before Epstein’s final arrest, for notepads from high-end London stationer Smythson embossed with the initials ‘JE’.
I will never forget when a former flatmate told me how his girlfriend had been instructed to book hotel rooms for rich men to meet woth mistresses and see workers as part of her job. This would have been in c. 2013.

Dan Norris, elected as Lab MP, arrested - 2 counts of rape.
Tulip Siddiq sentenced to 4 years.
I wonder why Labour have made 3 attack videos about me in the last 24 hours?

Weird being at the Emirates stadium when there's so many empty seats. Our guess is that of seating of 60,000, about 5,000 people are here. Which is still quite a lot tbh.

Photo of the book 'the shambling guide to new york city' by Mur Lafferty
Really enjoying picking books from my library based on whats on the librarians choice desk. Right now I am on @mightymur.bsky.social 's 'shambling guide to new york city' which is very charming and fun. I'd never have found it without the library.
Empty dressing packet as a bookmark.
