It does feel that way sometimes, I agree. I also think us Mets fans are snakebitten and (rightfully) cautious any time things are going well. It's a long season but I fully expect the Mets to be in the playoffs, regardless of how they get there.

The @mets.com sit atop the NL East and are on the road tonight at Minnesota (5-11); Homes vs Ryan. They'll look to add more space between themselves and the Phillies (vs SF). What's your take on the season so far, #Mets fans? #LGM

Honestly, I think you are. And I was too until I went back and really looked at his numbers. Understandably, the bad sticks out more than the good. I'm not a big fan of him, if I'm being honest.

Heilman was trash as a starter but he was pretty darn good as a RP. He was a key BP piece in '06.

Oddly enough, I know several that love him. I don't understand it either but that was in my mind when I put him there.

I don't know anyone that hates Beltran, so I'd keep him in the "Fans Love" spot, tbh. There's the sourness of the last AB but he was, by far, an amazing player. Heilman's numbers are actually pretty damn good for the Mets, if you go back and look. Reyes is def one to discuss.

What do you think @mets.com fans. Would you agree with my assessment? I leaned towards the early 2000s, overall. Still, I think it's fairly accurate with some open for debate.

Yea I know but none of them jump off the page for me. I look at the rotation as "In a 3 game series, can the Mets SP beat Philly/ATL/LAD" - Right now, I don't think so. The lineup is a different story but the rotation still needs another dependable arm IMO.

Exactly. I was big on trading for Crease or King. I still am. Either is a quality arm that can be a top of the line rotation guy and gives the Mets more depth by default b/c they're dependable.

Injuries happen, but this is why Mets fans have been screaming for more depth in the rotation, a more front line starter to match up with Senga. If they'd traded for Cease or King, and Montas' injury happened, there wouldn't be as much concern. They. Need. More. Depth.

Resigning Alonso makes the #Mets lineup lethal. One of the best in MLB but they shouldn't be done yet. They still need a frontline starter and have the pieces to trade with SD for Cease or King. They need to pull the trigger. If they do, it'd be the 2nd best off-season behind only LAD. #LGM

Agreed. Great addition for 1 yr to protect Soto. But the entire process was so drawn out and he's opting out after 1 yr, no question. He doesn't give Wright, Nimmo, Lindor vibes. It's a great line up with him in it but he can't talk about wanting to be a Met for life and then pull this stunt. #LGM
