it is the 2 year anniversary of the first time i drew my recurring armless male yo-yo object show character, so i drew a picture of it. on the right is another character, a female kiwifruit, popping out of the cake which surprises the yo-yo and a worm character named mermer. a female pencil case named pouchy and a ball of yarn named woolly are both in on the joke and start laughing at the characters shock. the background is simple, with just a shade of pink on top and blue on bottom. also, has anything like this ever actually happened? what would they do afterwards, just eat the half-destroyed cake? how id imagine this situation played out is that this is a fake cake and the real one is gonna be shown later

backstory: [pronounced NEE-lee] neali is my third 'official' 'object' character and is actually still my third newest character as well, despite being two years old at the time of posting this. he is my first and so far only character that i technically did not design, as his design was based on a prompt from Craiyon (some may remember it as DALL-E) in 2023. i was trying to get inspiration for actual object characters at the time like a yo-yo (this was before i had a yo-yo character) or a foam ball, but instead i generated some pretty weird ones, since this was when craiyon was still pretty bad. so even the original generation has extra eyes and an arm growing out on top, which i decided to turn into cheek marks and an anglerfish-like lure respectively personality is in image #2s alt text alt text: a reference sheet of a pink alien-like object show character named neali. he has a long mouth, black cheeks, and an anglerfish-like lure. the top reads 'Neali; (Unknown gender); 56cm (22")'. the top right shows how the character was baised on an old craiyon prompt. below that shows nealis loyalness to his friends. below that showcases how he cant imitate any human language. on the bottom is a disclaimer reading, '*Please note that, while Neali's design is based on an AI prompt, I do not support AI replacing human creativity nor do I use AI for any of my art.'

personality: neali is a mysterious case even in the context of his universe. he has an odd appearance that doesnt quite resemble any real world object. his origins are unknown and he cant even speak to others in an understandable way, but still finds ways of communicating through gestures and limited facial expressions. hes very loyal and passionate to his friends and is a quick learner. hes also patient and forgiving to those he trusts. although, to strangers, he may come across as asocial, tone deaf, or even aggressive because of his alien-like nature also, while his gender and sex are officially 'unknown', he doesnt seem to have any preference in terms of pronouns. i like to think that he doesnt really have a strong concept for stuff like pronouns to begin with alt text: (same as first image but with more mute colours. the purpose of this second image is that it uses my own colour palette that i usually use for my art)
