Broomfield is next. #cowx
Isolated to widely scattered showers will be around through the afternoon and evening. Brief light to moderate rain, gusty winds to 40 MPH and a rogue rumble of thunder will be possible anywhere in the Metro area #cowx
Going to be an above average fire year for sure, possibly catastrophic for much of the West considering the population boom and potentially hyperactive monsoon.
This Weekend in Colorado Weather: Daily chances for spotty April showers, but they wonโt amount to much. Always the bridesmaid. Never the brideโ๏ธโน๏ธ

Per Boulder Fire Rescue: "The #GoatTrailFire is 75% contained. There is hose around the fire and crews will be on site continuing to mop up throughout the day. A water drop from air support was expected at 8 a.m. but was cancelled due to lack of need." #COfire #Boulder
The approximate burn area from the #GoatTrailFire west of Boulder this morning. Very little to no smoke at this point. Hopefully will be contained soon as fire weather conditions will worsen by late morning into the afternoon. #COWX #COfire #Boulder

Apparently 90% of meteorologists think it is absolutely hilarious to spread around fake snowfall maps for April Fools. We don't participate in such shenanigans, though none of you would have believed it anyway given how Colorado's snow season has unfolded so far. #cowx

Let's just say the unprecedented nature of the warmth has exposed numerous shortcomings in our monthly review visualization code. It cannot handle record highs being obliterated by 10F+, more than 6 daily record highs being set in a month, or monthly temp departures in the double digits... #COwx
Wednesday's precip totals. Mostly less than 0.15". Highest south/west. Lowest north (sorry Longmontians) #cowx
Thanks for your report. Just glad we got some rain last evening. It was our best chance to see any moisture this week.
Skies will quickly clear Thursday morning with highs zooming into the lower 70s this afternoon. Gusty winds will create elevated fire danger, despite the lack of Red Flag Warnings.
Another cold front comes through Thursday night with a cooler blustery Friday expected.
Localized very dense fog this morning across portions of the Metro area creating tough travel following Wednesday's rain (like near the Boulder Airport), with sunshine elsewhere. The Mountains picked up a few inches of new snow, including just shy of 2" at Eldora.
Looks like mostly 0.05-0.15" for the area.
Wettest day in more than two weeks
Now that is some rain! Saving this radar for the memories... #cowx
