He MAGA style politics are creeping north, epecially into Alberta. We have a provincial government that is very friendly to him because of their allegiance to the oil industry. And a bunch of people who are trying to separate from Canada so they join the US.

I was camping in southern Alberta that weekend. Knew nothing about the eruption. On the Monday, we drove through Waterton Lakes National Park, and the air was so full of ash I couldn't even see the mountains across the lake. Had no idea what had happened until we got back to Lethbridge that evening.
