Step one: Identify your boundaries and name them. Step two: Be direct — it’s a kindness to be clear. Step three: Focus on the behavior itself. Step four: Redirect with restraints. Five: Know your consequences. #PLA2026
Oversharing is a problem — the receiver absorbs it and it can lead to compassion fatigue and burnout, it’s a potential patron privacy issue, and you don’t know who else in the library is overhearing and being impacted by the content. #PLA2026
