Hi I wrote about the making of classic platformerChuckie Egg and talked to its creator Nigel Alderton. Please give it a read as I want to show there’s an audience for this gaming history stuff 🙏

It just sounds exactly like a comedy name for a spoof middle-class suburb.
Went through Surbiton on the train yesterday. A place that, until about ten years ago, I genuinely thought was a fictional town invented for The Good Life.

I'm always happy to be educated.
As I think @polypores.bsky.social once said to me, "she's like your mum's friend who does a bit of yoga".
Love that. Enya has always had what my other half calls "Deputy head's hair".
Ah, this is very sad news. A sublime soundtrack that never fails to transport me.
"And a warning, this programme contains strong language from the start, and references to the Flying Pickets"
New and exclusive on the Haunted Generation website! A genial natter with the BFI's own @vicpratt.bsky.social, producer of the brand new Children's Film Foundation box set. Magic marbles, escaped lions, Michael Elphick and pocket calculators all included...

I fear this may include language fit only for the confines of the billiard parlour...
Ewww.
I'm very partial to "to-day" as well.
Oddly fascinated by the fact that Cliff Richard once covered a Wreckless Eric song.

Laughter is the best medicine. Unless you've got diarrhoea, in which case it's safer to keep a straight face.
Heartfelt thanks to @bobfischer.bsky.social for the really wonderful and keenly observed review of my new album in this month's Electronic Sound magazine!
Fancy joining me and @bobfischer.bsky.social in Colchester on Friday 30 July? The Scarred For Life Folk Horror show is coming, and there'll be ancient rituals and cursed eyebrows...
I'm still always a bit bemused by Bill Grundy asking The Sex Pistols about Beethoven in 1976. Mate, rock and roll has been around for TWENTY YEARS.
Yes, very true.
It's just that period when many older media people saw ALL contemporary music - whether it was Dylan or Pinky & Perky - as being frivolous and silly simply because it wasn't Schubert or Beethoven. I think there still traces of that around even in the early 1980s.
He definitely seems a little stressed here.
I've rarely seen an interviewer look more scared than this...

Not quite the case here, but I'm fascinated by rock star interviews done by forty and fifty-something journalists in the 1960s and 1970s. They just have absolutey no frame of reference, it's a world that utterly bewilders and repels them.
The peak era for rock stars and journalists absolutely hating the guts of each other.

I don't think I've had three different visitors to my house in the last decade.
Did it drive him equally barmy?
