This whole campaign is disgraceful. This administration which is riddled with actual antisemites is using antisemitism as a stalking horse for its campaign against all universities. A kind of elaborate and hideous gaslighting.

A safe prediction is that the WH intends to destroy all means of measuring what it is doing to the economy and public health. Gutting NOAA, NIH, NSF, removing AP and Reuters (the wire services by which other countries report our news) from the WH press pool -- all meant to de-inform citizens.

German measles makes it really sound like the AfD has become their Opa’s party once again and are exporting bio weapons via the kulturkampf of being antivax

worth keeping in mind that Bari Weiss and her merry band of simpering toads are toxic sludge, but they are toxic sludge with an extraordinarily developed sense of what's good for them personally, if they're taking this turn it's because DOGE is historically unpopular even with their audience

One of the hardest parts of what we are going through (for me) is trying to figure out how to make my life a good one amongst all the horror. But somehow it seems really important to do so, as part of the horror unleashed on us is to purposefully cause our suffering. Don’t let them win

He's not. His wealth is in stock, and it will cut down its own value if he ever starts liquidating it beyond a point. This is 100% theoretical in the sense about 2/3rd of his wealth can literally never be realised. He is a one man ponzi scheme and the fake investment is in brand elon

unfortunately for these folks the odds are that they aren’t going to go after violent criminals at all — too hard — and going to go exclusively over the easiest targets, which are law abiding workers

the thing is they aren’t even mad at the press

their brains are all cooked because they joined social media and realized that a lot of normal people fucking hate them and their response has been to petulantly prove every one of those people right by trying to turn themselves into fascist god-kings

shoutout the diaspora of firefighters defending my mountain home, the daredevil pilots careening thru the hills and canyons, today hopefully will be the last day of gnarbar winds, and the smoke can begin to clear. Been a week of my fam’s home being surrounded, flames just over the ridge. ❤️ topanga

It saddens me that this is the winning vision of how to be a man. When I see dudes acting this way - soldiers, executives, lawyers, whoever - I don’t see men. Doesn’t matter how strong or powerful they are. They’re dumb fucking boys aping at being men. Sorry your fathers weren’t better at their job.

I think antitrust is not enough to deal with the tech industry. We need - and I know this era isn't one where we get it - a digital EPA, with quality standards for apps/digital services with personal liability for executives and real, meaningful mechanisms to force companies to stop hurting people.

the internet is, much like the waterways, kinda vital for life as we know it and both parties just kinda shrug as the digital equivalent of lead is poured directly into drinking water

snowing Sunday 11 degrees and sunny with a gorgeous sunset yesterday to almost freezing and rain today and Thursday snow again…I’ll take schizo weather over mundane banal grey for months in Berlin

This is simultaneously one of the most laugh-out-loud ridiculous and one of the coolest things I have ever fucking seen, is exactly the creative zoomies you’d expect from a punk rocker hitting middle age, and I need to know if Shinya Tsukamoto got cold sweats when this dropped.

The work done by Tsuburaya’s crew was globally considered pioneering and masterful effects craft in its day, and the reputation of “cheap rubber suits and cardboard buildings” was active (and racist) revisionist history spun by American critics and historians in the 80s onwards. It drives me insane.

a thing you have to understand about policing gadgets is that if you had a literal coinflip, if the coin coming up heads was an acceptable predicate for a warrant or probable cause, every PD in the country would pay thousands for it
