@marianopnavarro.bsky.social delivered the final pencils to issue 2. Now he begins the inking and then off to @hernancabreracolor.bsky.social for colors and letters. We are on schedule to be finished by the end of May. #NecessaryEvil
I think Nat has answered my questions. Thank you for your time and attention, Kurt.
Well, okay then. I guess that's the bottom line.
I'm starting to think that I should abandon B&N and everyone who requires a complex EPUB. Also, generally, these platforms are myopic and don't even think about comics. We're kind of invisible to them. Perhaps I should become equally invisible to them . . .
They don't accept PDFs, only EPUBs. That's the problem, EPUB comic books need complex html coding and if you're not a coder, you're kind of screwed. This is why publishers exist, I guess.
They think that my professionally written, drawn and lettered comic book is something I scanned in and now I'm trying to sell that. (2/2)
I am attempting to publish a comic book on Nook. I tried to workaround their horrible submission process by submitting it to Draft2Digital and having *them* submit it to B&N, but D2D says that have "scanned" text that needs to be converted. (1/2)
Do the major publishers submit manuscripts for ebooks to Amazon et al with the text in the word balloons as text? That sounds like *a lot* of unnecessary work. Any information would be appreciated.
@kurtbusiek.bsky.social and @nat.gertler.com, I come to you once again for guidance. The publishing platforms are now demanding that all text be text and not rasterized images. They obviously don't understand what a comic book is and don't care. (1/2)
“To the gills”
See? They needed to print it to film and scan the print.
I’ve already written several spec scripts for “New Monkees.”

Is this in reference to something or just general advice?
Panel from What If...? #17 (1990) Sergei Kravinoff aka Kraven The Hunter, stands naked in a room full of spiders that swarm around him or hang from the ceiling. The spiders cover his shame. He looks upset. Kraven: Why am I DOING this?
Hi, Mark. May I quote you?
Every AI commercial gaslights you into thinking you're an idiot. Before you had access to AI you were too stupid to find your girlfriend's makeup, or boil an egg, or pick a shirt. Every commercial starts from the premise of "Hey, so you know how you're the dumbest fucking fuck to ever do it?"
Any particularly bizarre stories that came back to you as fact?
Lauren, do you follow Stella?
ZOHRAN MAMDANI: "It is sad that for too many Americans when they want to look for ambition in the Democratic Party, they have to turn to a history book."
I’m sure I don’t need to tell Mark Frost that there are a lot of urban legends surrounding “Twin Peaks.”
Now, who’s going to correct my grammar since it should be “fewer than.”
So . . . who's going to be the guy who points out that the two guys who collectively make up the Lizard have less than eight limbs? #BlueSkyGuy
I have been a semi-professional comic book writer for a few years now and I have a better understanding of how most people are resistant to reading a comic book. If I write a play, all of my friends will come see it, but I cannot get them to read a graphic novel written by myself.
Any time a woman complains on social media it’s because they want concrete, step by step instructions on how to remedy the problem, and by gum, I’m here to deliver!
A robot walks down the street giving Heathcliff a piggyback ride, the smiling cat sitting on the robot's shoulders. Grandma Nutmeg and a friend watch them pass from a nearby window, and Grandma says "I wish they could stay small forever."
