Something something necessary inflation or everyone will hoard their piles of money like dragons and stop spending because tomorrow's $$$ is worth more than today's.

"Deflationary spiral" can happen, but avoiding even the faintest possibility of it is used to justify consistently high inflation...

I kept company with a lot of wealthy & famous people who turned out to be misogynists, rapists and sexual predators...

"Iranian People" and "Iranian Oil" do share many of the same letters, so... partial credit?

Thank you for continuing to track these preventable tragedies.

Agreed on the others as well. Thermal paste is insidious.

Glad they can focus their efforts on streamlining a process that costs $30k a year. Seems like the most effective use of their time and energy right now. Maybe they can get some lobster tails for the dept to celebrate?

Guy walks in with a machine gun and shoots up a bank. People die, glass shatters. Security locks the doors and halts all transactions.

Guy says "Hey, you can't do that! Let's calm down and make a deal about this! Give me what I want, and maybe I'll even compensate you for the bullet hole damage!"

We differ on method, but I agree with you on this point. Until humanity escapes the mental shackles of religion, predominantly Abrahamic religion, the cycle of needless wars and historic persecution complexes will never end.

Not voting feels/is empowering in the moment but only if the rationale doesn't fade and become a data point in 4-8 years. Otherwise, it just looks like yet another election where older voters turned up over younger ones, so Dems should hedge their bets next cycle on older voters, again.

I'm going to "Yes, but..." on this, which I hope doesn't turn you off immediately.

The "extortion" was, in a large sense, which voter block Dems would continue listening and responding to - older voters and moderates with financial support promises vs younger voters. They chose older voters, again.

Older Dems hedge on older voters (50+), who historically turn up to vote far more reliably than younger voters and make up a large voting block. Even as of mid-2025, the older gen was roughly split on support Israel. It was a bad gamble on which side to alienate.

"FWIW I voted for Harris."

You're in good company on having done that without agreeing with all of her views.

"She could've said no to genocide and won."

That's an ok but rough assumption. Dems were, as a majority, in opposition to Israel's action in Gaza & Iran, but varied by age distribution.

"I voted for the IDEAL MAGA that he said out loud, in big, beautiful words in 2024! He was so stunningly successful at enacting his vision from 2016! I believed in his promises for his second term!"

She's an insufferable liar or an impossibly gullible fool. Probably a combination of both.

You're arguing with a slew of people who hate that they were forced to make a choice they didn't like and said "Nope, I'm just gonna pick neither!" while riding a bus that still goes down one path or another by majority vote.

Abstaining as a "moral" choice enabled this situation short-term.

I imagine He'd start singing "Jumper" by Third Eye Blind. Then cure his hand, give him some bread & fish, tell him about God and go on his way. Biblical Jesus was a champ like that, apparently.

I know what I would do in that situation, though...

Strange how that list of "Objectives" never seems to end, it just waxes and wanes in proportion to the amount of ammunition they have to deploy against their enemies and undesirables they believe are still inhabiting their god-given lands.

Among non-voters, 48% leaned democratic vs 45% republican. Yet 44% of non-voters said they WOULD have voted for Trump, vs just 40% for Harris.

So yes, there is evidence that a bunch of democrat-leaning voters knew the stakes from 2016, yet sat out over Harris.

Remember how many votes both Trump and the GOP legislators received to get into those positions in the first place?

More than 30% of adult voters and many of the richest men in the US, could re-grow it in a two year span. "FOREVER" would require a very wide and very deep treatment...

Is this that "rapture" thing so many Americans keep talking about wanting to get caught up in?

2 weeks ago 3 0 0 0

They legitimately view themselves as the physical and moral backbone of society; that their hard work, ideals, and patriotism are what keep America a free, upright and forward-thinking country. They'd fight to the death (with guns ofc) to keep it that way.

It's terrifying when you let that sink in.
