Oh, I wish I had the capacity to do this. I'll flag it with a few people I know?

APPLICATIONS OPEN 🌈
Artist apps for My Liege, Queer Knights in Love, our collab artbook with our friends @novamali.bsky.social are open until Monday April 13th noon eastern time, or if we hit 600 apps.
If the sub-tweet with the link is not there, it means applications have closed!
I'm one of those trans women. I worked ground ops for Artemis I.
I am torn between celebrating the success of my friends and peers and grieving how my dream of working for NASA was shattered by hateful assholes in Tallahassee
the way the impostor syndrome hits me like a train when this happens (which is all the time because all my artist friends are a 10)

Sorry, I hope this is allowed - I started keeping a development log for my TTRPG in progress! It's very early days for the log, and I've still got a LOT to do for the game, but... yetwepersist.tumblr.com

“if we consider the notion that explanation is not separate from discovery, but one of its highest forms, then we might rebuild a culture in which science is not merely produced but understood. That’s not a decorative add-on to the scientific enterprise. It’s one of the ways the enterprise survives”
"my least woke opinion is---"
That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.
Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.
A screenshot of the Kickstarter campaign for the art book "We've Always Been Here." A Métis couple stand together holding hands in the header graphic, and the screenshot shows 22,108 euros raised of the 27,000 euro goal. The campaign currently has 413 backers and 10 days left to go. There's also a small badge in the corner showing we got a 'Project We Love' award from Kickstarter!
Less than 5,000€ left until we reach our goal!! (And it's our mod Sapling's birthday today too! 🥳)
Let's keep sharing and bring this beautiful queer history art book to life! 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️

Reform UK really do inspire community action in the most unexpected ways.
It's always a little bit of a weird topic, but one of the most interesting impacts that you indirectly had was that by creating the character, you created this incredible wealth of fan fiction about the movie version of the character. You mean the slash fiction? I was about to get to that. Have you read any of them? What do you think of it? I haven't read any of it, but I get a lot of photos sent to me on Twitter. Not photos but drawings of Steve and Bucky together. Honestly, I fucking love it. 1 used to work at a bookstore on Castro Street and we sold a ton of K-S romance zines, the Kirk-Spock romances that were mostly written by soulful lesbians about Kirk and Spock being a gay couple. Every story was the first time. of the ones that I read. So I love that passionate side of fandom. I know it's a
weird topic. Obviously in the movie, they're not gay lovers. But I know that that's been an ongoing thing and it's joined the pantheon on Kirk and Spock and Frodo and Sam and now it's Cap and Bucky. It's like, that's super fucking weird. There are little kids playing with Winter Soldier toys and there are grown adults writing stories about him being in love with Steve Rodgers. To have impacted pop culture on that wide of a spectrum is not a thing I ever imagined that I would do in my lifetime. I'm sure there's slash fiction about almost everything. I'm sure I could go online and in ten seconds find Paul Walker-Vin Diesel slash fiction or something. You better believe you can. Exactly. God, now I wonder what it's called. Fast and the Curious. It probably is, right. Fast and the Curious because it's bi-curious? This is why they pay you the big bucks
It's fucked that the Russos got Hollywood's credit for the success of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER (2014). The important story elements were invented by Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting for comics a decade earlier. And Brubaker actually endorsed Stucky fic in this outtake from a 2016 intvw I did:
I am begging you. Please learn about stress/discomfort tolerance. Practice raising it. You need this to survive. If someone online can ruin your day with a throwaway comment, you desperately need to understand discomfort tolerance and consciously, systematically build that shit. Also! Stress tolerance is such an important skill that having a learning disability in that area is a major symptom of a whole lot of other disabilities/mental illnesses! Struggling with it is a huge part of life! It sucks! Am I saying everyone with misophonia needs to listen to chewing noises all day? No. But you need to find ways to tolerate it enough that you don't treat others like shit if they make a mouth noise near you. No, you don't have to read the fic with your trigger tags. But you do need to be able to handle scrolling past the tags without being upset. It is hard! But not having it also makes you so so so easy to manipulate. That grandma is racist AF because her mom raised her to be uncomfortable around black people and she never fought that discomfort. Trans people make so many cis people uncomfortable and that discomfort turns into bigotry real fast. Letting your discomfort dictate your actions and beliefs about things is a great way to become a terrible person. Learn. Discomfort. Tolerance.
Important shit that I’m still trying to learn.
Yeah, let what is happening to Discord radicalize you against the encroaching of puritan fascism we are seeing in laws world wide.
The US, Canada and a good chunk of the EU like Spain are looking into making laws that will actively do the same for a more expansive area of the internet.
This image is the same smile I give when I'm having an autistic shutdown and am nonverbal but still need to pretend I'm having a great time. This is a creature who should be giving a halfhearted thumbs up. Tina Belcher's "everything's fine" face. Yea.

On 26 Jan 1788 the British invaded lands of a couple of First Nations. There's over 300 Nations on this continent, so 100s of invasions occurred over many decades. There were Martu people in 1964 who'd never heard of white people. Invasion was not a single day. Colonisation is not a single event
Comic Con banned Al art. https://Inkd.in/dEeA7GFZ On one side: Artists fighting to protect craft, credit, and originality. On the other: Creators finally able to bring ideas to life without mastering the traditional tools. Al is dividing the creative world in two. But hasn't this happened before? Was Photoshop cheating? Was digital photography? Is CGI less "real" than practical effects? Is animation less valid than live action? Studios are already using Al. Cinema is evolving. Music, design, apps - everything is shifting. We're not just witnessing a tech shift. We're living through a cultural evolution. Yes, we "should" protect artists. Yes, we *must* talk about ethics, consent, originality. But should creative expression only belong to the trained? Al is giving more people a seat at the creative table. To build, paint, compose, animate - without gatekeepers. Maybe we'll need two categories: @ *Human-only* 2 *Al-assisted* Or... maybe not. Because creativitv should

Thistlefoot by GennaRose Nethercott. Highly recommend it - a great read, about diaspora feelings, estrangement, and the ways fear fuels hatred. Also very interesting, very fun, and has Baba Yaga's descendants inheriting her house. :) I'm listening to it as an audiobook! (bought it on libro :) )
