It’s like they saw how comics treated early creatives and went ‘more of that’ and the world just casually agreed. I will never forget a well know TTRPG CEO saying he wanted to follow the marvel model. We creatives all know what that means and it’s garbage for us.
Looking at the Disney situation. Along the way things got so royalty fucked. Creatives are the backbones of these industries. But regardless of whether they’re salaried or work for hire, royalties aren’t in play. There’s no reward for creating billions in shareholder value, nor any loyalty.
Having at least three highlighters of different colours is a requirement I’m afraid, though having them in pastels is optional.

I couldn’t. I burned out and injured my wrist. I don’t think comics is generally viable unless you have a 2nd income (yours or someone else’s). If you have a FT job you’re limited in the scope of what you can take on, limiting your career. There are exceptions of course + where you live matters.
