But despite the success of its visual effects, it is completely weak scientifically. What I liked was how it broke clichés with its alien design. It is an emotional space-buddy story. It offers viewing pleasure, but little else.

I watched Project Hail Mary. Technically, it isn't very good, with its disjointed scenes and a fantastical narrative that glosses over the laws of physics. It tips its hat to the communication aesthetics of Arrival and Spielberg’s musical spirit. >
