What a BRILLIANT Wikipedia edit.

Holy smokes, they just said it all out loud like that? Why would any company release a full-blown political manifesto?
Thanks for sharing! So excited for this one.
All the ethical concerns about AI aside—if you’re thinking of letting agentic AI automate your life, please, for the love of all things holy, ask someone who’s tried to use Gen AI for hands-off copywriting or research how that went. Do not let it act on your behalf.
Anyone have a list of publishers that have incorporated AI into their editing process (thinking of Hachette). As an author, reader, and teacher, I would like to steer clear.
Thanks!
Oh nice! I bet the blend is really nice
Aw, thank you! And yeah, my stylist is amazing. What colours for you?
Thank you!!
Look what I got done this week! I feel like a grunge princess.
I’m sorry to share that I won’t be at the Sunnyside Indigo Author Event tomorrow. All is well, but something has come up and I need to handle some logistics (Ugh! Travel!)
I hope everyone has an amazing time, and I’m sorry to miss it!
April 10th is National Encourage a Young Writer Day!
@salsawler.bsky.social, author of ELLIS ON GUARD, has some great advice for novice writers. 📚
What advice would you give to encourage the young writers in your life?
The cortisol spikes that come with this presidency are horrendous.
Last week I finally gave up on a book that I hated and tried to make myself read for 3 months. I also wouldn’t let myself read a different book during that time because I was already in the middle of one story and I could not commit to two storylines at once. 🤪
In other news, real news, the new Earthrise poster.
(says Getty images, but I think NASA/Reid Wiseman, are original source)
I’ve never been so grateful to live in a phone-free bubble when I’m teaching. But what a horror to walk out to at the end of the day.
Please, @mark-carney.bsky.social, denounce this war.
Yes! That’s exactly what I couldn’t quite articulate.
(by “children“, I mean under elementary-aged. Animal Farm is a great book for teens)
Yeah, I agree. And I think that’s what’s so weird about it. People seem to think Animal Farm is for children because it’s about animals, so the studio decided to lean into it, I guess. But the trailer makes it look like a very sanitized and frivolous version of a very poignant political allegory.
Look at this: “not outwardly trying to be political“! My dude, Animal Farm is about Stalin’s rise to power. It’s inherently political!
Has anyone else seen the Animal Farm trailer? And… is anyone else disturbed by how cutesy it is?
Me too! But we can only watch it after the 14yo goes to bed—he’s faithful to the anime and gets VERY annoyed when they stray from it. I admire his commitment to the original though 🤣
The 19yo just sent me a photo of this display at Indigo in Dartmouth, and I love it so much. I‘m so happy to see that the store put the youth work on display. They worked so hard on it, and I loved working with them! Art is such a valuable way to explore tough topics.
Yes.
Remember Tim Hortons bread bowls? They were beautiful.
The key to lifelong happiness is maintaining the same sense of wonder live-action Luffy shows when he meets Chopper.
Ah yes. This must be the answer.
A polar bear and a couple of cubs sleeping in an underground snowhole with only a thin tunnel leading up to the surface.
How did this bear get in this hole?
Haha, he ran away
not that far. Probably about 30 mins before Wallace.
