A graph showing the State of Missouri voting record for the 2024 presidential election.
Missouri voted 40% for Harris in 2024. We are only a red state because of gerrymandering.

From The Wolves of the Calla, a Dark Tower book. A very poetic series all around.
We live about 3 miles from a 3M factory. It's right across the highway from an elementary school.
At first I thought it said, "Nylon Cathedral," and decided it would make a great name for a band.
My husband once observed that I love books and movies that meander. It's true, and it's one reason I buy your books.
Eric Swalwell is not Al Franken. The accusation is not groping, it’s rape. His survivors are not Tara Reade, for starters, there are FIVE of them who have come forward, SO FAR, not one.
Mrs. Frazzled has been trying to get this story out since NOVEMBER, when he announced in the first place. I reached out to Frazz a little less than a month ago, right before she made the initial post naming him. She made that post because the articles still weren’t released and she couldn’t wait any longer.
Your “timing” bullshit should fall apart at this point. She TRIED to get this out before the filing deadline. CNN and San Francisco Chronicle are the ones who waited till now. Waited until after all the hit pieces were making their rounds and getting traction.
Maybe that’s because they didn’t finish their investigation till Sunday (that’s when we were put under embargo on the story), or maybe they wanted this widespread dismissal to be the outcome. I don’t fucking know.
When you say “why now?” You are proving why survivors don’t come forward.

Apropos of nothing: female candidates are electable if you vote for them
I want to start by saying, I HATE AIPAC. AIPAC has been pretty terrible at least since Bibi was first elected, which was my whole life. I’m a progressive Jew, we grow up hearing about AIPAC the same way Progressive Americans grow up hearing about the NRA.
So we’re clear on that? Great. AIPAC is bad, AND it’s not some boogey monster. It’s not responsible for everything bad in your life personally or our lives collectively or the Democratic party or the government. And when you give it that much power, you are essentially saying this PAC, that is run by Jews, controls the country.
That IS an antisemitic trope. It’s pretty much the oldest one in the book. Jews control the world, the country and the money. And the way people talk about AIPAC is all those things. So whenever AIPAC is mentioned at all, many people on the left go a bit feral. It’s an easy scapegoat to blame — it’s a bad organization and antisemitism is pretty acceptable in leftist spaces.
It also means no one ever questions when AIPAC is used as the scapegoat. One you see the letters AIPAC that’s enough proof of whatever. Publications know this too, which is why their job is quite easy, especially when it comes to helping divide Democrats.
AIPAC is bad, but it’s not UNIQUELY bad. Even if you don’t understand that, at least the DNC does.

Having read this latest tiny installment of our Hero, the Tiny Cowboy; and having found it to be delightful, I will now exit the internet with a great attitude.
Thank you.
My favorite song on that album is Uncle Salty.
Happiest Birthday to you!

Photo of a very stripey cat on a couch cushion with knitted blanket squares in front of her. She's positioned herself on top of the edges of the squares, and is looking into the camera as if to say, "Deez are mine."
Thirteen the Jedi guarding the last two blanket squares. She's still got that spicy kitten in her, even at 9 years old.

If they can't sense me watching, surely they can hear me hollering, "WTF!? Are you LOST?!"
My mom was born the same year, and played Aretha (among others) constantly as I grew up in the 60s and 70s.
Reading your thread gave me goosebumps.

Gloria Steinem
On this day in 1934, Gloria Steinem was born. She became a feminist writer, editor, and co-founder of Ms. magazine. When testifying for the ERA in 1970, Steinem decried the “myth” “that women are already treated equally in this society.” More than a half century later, that myth persists. #WeTheMen
You are, absolutely and without a doubt, a motherfucking QUEEN.
They're the best!
Ann Richards is my hero.
Well, our airport terminal is named after Roy fucking Blunt, so maybe they'll leave us alone.
I loved this book. Maybe time for a re-read.
Yesterday I started seeing the same narrative repeated over and over again: “Schumer has the power to remove Fetterman from committees, and if he doesn’t he’s feckless.”
Now, I already have my alarm bells going off whenever someone blames Schumer for something. Because, it doesn’t matter if Schumer does something right or wrong or isn’t even responsible for the thing, he gets the blame anyway.
But the red warning signs flashed even brighter with this one because it came out of nowhere. [Bottom half of the screen is a red siren graphic]
There are times when I see a narrative come out of nowhere that I have to dispel immediately, before it really gets out of hand. This is one of those times.

💜🍨 Poor Baby! 🍹💜
This is a case where my sister and I would say, "Do you need a Poor Baby?" And we would bring ice cream and/or tequila and have a Poor Baby party.
The Husband Critter and I had a similar conversation. I asked him how the hell we'd dispose of a body. He reminded me his dad owned a backhoe. 💜
Okay, before this gets really out of hand, we gotta have a chat. You’re gonna hear about votes in the Senate on the SAVE Donald Trump’s Ass Act for DAYS.
Today, the Senate voted to open debate on this bill. This vote only needs a simple majority, which, it barely got. Thom Tillis didn’t vote, and Lisa Murkowski voted with ALL Dems, yes, including Fetterman.
We are days, if not weeks, away from the cloture vote, which will determine if the bill dies cause it needs 60 votes to pass cloture (which is EXTREMELY likely) Democrats would LOVE if the bill hadn’t even gotten to a floor debate, and tried to prevent it from doing so, but we don’t hate that it did.
You gotta stop misrepresenting the situation around the SAVE Donald Trump’s Ass Act! And realized that there are many votes that come before the final vote

LEWIS'S LAW states that ‘the comments on any article about feminism justify feminism’.
I've always lived in the Midwest, so I wasn't familiar with Jacaranda trees. That's just gorgeous!
I got to do that with my grandma. She was born in 1925, and had excellent stories of farm life and going to town and rationing stamps.
She talked about trimming the frayed edges of her jute-soled shoes so they looked nicer.
