That’s a wrap on classes for fall 2024! The headlines about the higher ed sector are often full of uncertainty and gloom, but this past semester has been another great reminder of how much I enjoy teaching - even at 8:30 on Monday mornings.

It was especially popular in one course where a bunch of students had government summer job experience, because they shared first-hand examples about other examples of “insider language”
Late to the party on this post, but I assign Cohn’s “Sex and Death in the Rational World of Defence Intellectuals” because the article has a number of different entry points for students in terms of content (language, gender, rationality, nukes, peace, etc etc).
I had enough large ones for two batches of pizza sauce, but with the wild weather I’ve had a LOT of splitting with the larger tomatoes this summer.
