I'm not going to appropriate Yoruba culture to write an anti-colonial game, obviously, but I'd love for it to exist.

I can't stop thinking about how the heist chapters would be a perfect fit for @rowanrookanddecard.bsky.social's Havoc Engine jam. Eat the Reich but with orisha instead of vampires, and set in a museum where there are awesome supernatural items everywhere.

If there is no reason to roll dice in that situation, are dice then only arbiters of different preferred outcomes among players, and randomizers of narrative control?
Is it because part of the fun of playing RPGs is giving up narrative control and sometimes every player wants to give up narrative control?
Do dice get a voice even if every player wants a different outcome?
Question for RPG designers:
If all players (including GM) want a certain outcome to happen, what is a reason to still roll dice?
Is it because the fiction demands it? (The characters spent the last of their coin to hire guards, so there must be a chance of an ambush.)
