Don’t ban all the buskers 🫨 Recent

Kudos to Camden Lib Dems for continuing to support musicians.

Nuisance buskers should be dealt with, but Labour have reduced legal busking, while noise complaints have reached new highs anyway - quite an achievement!

Fly tipping, harrassment, beer cans by the hundreds, e-bikes & scooters on the towpath, not enough lighting - walking along the canal should be a pleasure - but its badly impacted by all sorts of anti-social behaviour.

Liberal Democrats are cleaning it up: get involved - get in touch!

Hungary election: Viktor Orbán concedes with opposition on course for landslide election win - follow live Hungary's prime minister has been ousted after 16 years in power, with Péter Magyar set to be the country's new leader.

This is fantastic news. An Anti-Eu, Pro-Trump, Pro-Putin wannabe dictator has lost power. No, I am not talking about Farage, but about Orban.

The massive turn out shows the way to beat the far-right is through action not apathy. Help stop Reform in the UK, get involved!

Government looking at decoupling electricity and gas prices to bring down bills Ed Miliband spoke to Labour MPs about possible action after the chancellor faced questions about how she plans to help households if the war in Iran continues to impact their finances.

Yes! Lib Dems have been calling for this change. It is a shame it has taken yet another fossil fuel driven energy crisis for Labour to seriously consider this - but better late than never...

Trump revokes landmark ruling that greenhouse gases endanger public health The White House calls it the largest deregulation in US history, but environmentalists say it will prove costly for Americans.

"Trump Revokes Science"
What next?
"Trump declares earth is flat"
"Trump declares HE is the centre of the Universe?"
Pathetic.

Kate Nash tells MPs: I sell pictures of my bum on the internet to fund my tour The musician told MPs she lost £26,000 on her last tour of Europe.

“...there is a pipeline we are not thinking through about the future of UK music and how we are seen culturally around the world.”

Kate Nash tells MPs how touring is becoming unaffordable for musicians.

'I can't sell this house – we absolutely are trapped' A family from Hackney describe their struggle with mould and damp in a new home they bought in 2015.

I am absolutely, completely un-shocked by this.

When is the government going to take building quality seriously? Labour/Starmer are taking a very short terminist view of the housing crisis. We need to build new homes AND build them well, or we will ruin people's lives

Labour have confirmed they have no intention of ending Leasehold: their new bill says ground rents will only change to a peppercorn after 40 years(!)

Liberal Democrats will keep fighting to end leasehold. If you are disappointed by Labour - join the Lib Dems.

Starmer warned against fresh U-turn that could trigger row 'with 100 MPs' There is speculation the government could row back on its promise to cap ground rents amid concern from the Treasury about the impact on pension funds.

No No No No No.

Starmer: show some backbone! Massive problems need radical solutions. Stop listening to the lobby and start listening to the people - Ground Rent has to go.

With International Law is crumbling under pressure we need people to speak up so that our Government knows we care

If you think that what Iran is doing is horrific, & that we should do our part to help Iranians who manage to flee - don't be silent. Share, post, email your MP - just don't be silent

Dumped Mattress, broken sign, potholes and more all reported this evening.

Every little helps but really we just need a whole new approach - and that will not happen unless we can get more Liberal Democrats elected in Brent.

Sometimes it's the little things

The bollard here had been broken for months - cars were hitting the curb because they couldn't see it

A resident pointed it out while I was doorknocking. I followed up with the council and it has been replaced

#Votelibdem if you want politicians who do the work

Great afternoon In Wembley Central with Luke Taylor MP and our three excellent candidates. Daniel, Heta and Chirag

I myself saw some pretty horrific proof of why Brent needs more councillors who actually do the work. There are always issues which have just gone ignored for years

Out and about talking to residents and cleaning up our area yesterday... as we went around we reported :

1. Fly tips
2. Subsidence in the Abbey estate green space
3. Street drinkers with an open fire

So much work to do - the Labour run council is just failing to get on top of so many issues.

'It's ruined my life': Flat-owner says building work by freeholder has left her homeless A botched roof extension caused the ceiling to collapse at Kate Morris’s top-floor flat.

And again, this is why leasehold - all leaseholds - must be abolished. AND why builders must be regulated and accountable. Absolutely devastating for the families involved.

Great to be out campaigning with Assembly member @Hinabokharild.bsky.social yesterday.

There are so many Labour voters saying they are looking for a new home - and we can offer that home.

The Fold: Residents forced out of luxury newbuild seek council help Water damage, collapsing ceilings, and even sewage entering bathrooms was reported in the flats.

And yet another defective new build - homes that have been built to solve one crisis, just feeding another one.

There's no pointing in shouting "build baby build" if the homes you build can't be lived in.

@Keir_Starmer - when are you going to take this issue seriously?

Residents ordered to leave Sapphire Court amid structural safety fears Residents of Sapphire Court in Stratford were told to leave amid safety fears. In this blog, Eleanor Solomon explains residents’ rights and how to join the legal claim.

What a surprise.... its almost like some of us have been pointing out for years that there is a major issue with building quality in this country.

And the way the residents are being treated, and provided with very little information is not acceptable.

Great to meet some of our fantastic London Fire fighters this week.

We hear so much about how slow the pace of change has been since Grenfell - and more change is needed.

But it was good to hear how the LFB are upgrading their gear to deal with larger tower block fires. Absolutely vital.

'Our job is only killing' - how Sudan's brutal militia carried out a massacre in el-Fasher BBC Verify tracks how the RSF killed unarmed people in a massacre that humanitarian officials believe left 2,000 dead.

And some people wonder why Asylum Seekers might possibly want to flee countries like Sudan and come to Europe / UK...

They are fleeing their homes to survive. For the possibility of not having to live in fear. For the safety of their families.

They deserve our help.
