People forget that the rules in the US Congress have a ton of weak spots for small groups of determined legislators to cause massive chaos.

Politicians do things we don’t like. They hear our anger and change their position. We have successfully persuaded them to be better. That’s how politics works in a democracy. Call it “political expediency,” but that’s how politics works.
Genuinely trying to follow the throughline from “AOC says she opposes all military aid to Israel,” and “aligning yourself with Israel is not a winning strategy.” Is the implication that making a pledge to oppose material support for Israel is *less* important than her saying sorry?
