I’m thrilled at the thought of the SF novel covers that are going to riff on this. It’s an incredible image that represents an amazing knot of concepts

Good grief I thought I’d hallucinated that show!
FOLKS!!!!
@naomialderman.bsky.social has bought Zombies, Run!
Yes, the old app a bunch of us used to all exercise together to and do our mini events is back in her hands!
Small thing, though. The banks apparently were empty 👀
So there's a couple of things to do to help out (mini thread)
He genuinely seems like he cares about what he’s doing.
Also, if you borrow an author's book from a library in the UK, that author gets more than 12 pence per loan in Public Lending Rights. Any author can earn up to £6,600 per year this way.
welp this is becoming part of my vocabulary forever
As far as I know there is literally no reason for this, it is just an incredibly lucky coincidence that we get to enjoy for free
A *very* long time ago I used to write articles for EDGE magazine about game development. There was always a feeling that EDGE was a magazine for grown ups, for developers, for industry - a peek behind the curtain that the mainstream magazines couldn't offer. I get the same feeling about CONTINUE.
Same. And there isn’t shit I can do so I’m just sort of sitting here…
There is literally no action that I personally can take that will change this outcome one iota. Hell yes, I’m disassociating.
The Moon: oh wow you guys decided to come back
Artemis II crew: earth’s haunted
I didn't know anything about the Artemis II astronauts a week ago and now I would fight my way into Hell for any of them.
You can tell me Bluesky is dead, irrelevant and actively hostile, but you have NO IDEA how many point & click adventure games I've played.
I like to think there was big meeting where one of the points of order was the crows doing a power point presentation with the title: this human, this one specifically, this one’s cool.
If you’re using AI to write books, understand that’s not going to somehow get you respect or money like real writers who aren’t using AI to write books because we don’t get respect or money either.
What the hell?
Okay this one I hadn’t seen before and I can’t stop laughing at it.
I will add to the “no we fucking don’t” list.
Using AI for ANY PART of your writing process means you’re plagiarizing. You’re not writing, you’re stealing someone else’s work and calling it yours.
It doesn’t create anything. It’s a vending machine of stolen words.
Fuck AI and those who use it.
Welcome! Our club nights are poorly organised but we tend towards being good cooks and hilarious.
Gonna link this here because I've been absolutely absorbed in Demonschool, it's very good
One of my favourites :)
The Matrix?
Hey friends. The fuel crisis is really tough for women affected by family violence. If you can, please pop some bux into the kitty for your local family services.

The youngest #kakapo chick on Pukenui/Anchor Island: Hanariki-A2, at 3 days old. It's a tiny 42g, but doing OK. Managed to keep it mostly dry on a very wet night. #kakapo2026 #conservation #birds
Try to avoid gradients of only 2 colors interpolating linearly. Try to add a third dimension in the transition! This is true for VFX, textures, skyboxes, animating color parameters etc.
Here is a more in depth post about color interpolation from the code end:

FUN FACT: You personally interact with dozens, even hundreds of artists and storytellers on this website every day who dedicate 0% of their resources to directly harming trans people. Many of them have comics, or albums, or podcasts, or even fantasy novels available for your guilt-free enjoyment!
This is REALLY good advice. It feels like it sucks when you're writing it but it sucks far FAR less than looking back on 60,000 words worth of regret.
would love to see a thread of small practical pieces of advice developers just starting out or unfamiliar with a genre might not know!
I’ll start: if you’re using a tag-based system, don’t just give everything an individual tag—look for thematic groups where similar events can lead to same outcome
